  1. Wow, thanks. I'll work on it. I've never been super diligent about my chemistry and this is the first tome I've ever had this issue. But I know it's important, and I have to start somewhere, so I'll pick up some calcium balancer and try to get it all right. Thank you!
  2. I don't know what it is right now but I'll check tonight. Thanks
  3. I am having an issue with my water! My hot tub is a 23 year old Sweetwater Vail, a simple 6' round hot tub with a few jets. It has worked flawlessly the whole time and still does. But, all of a sudden I'm having major scaling issues with the water and I'm afraid it's going to wreck the guts of my tub. About a year ago, after a water change, I started getting a scale in the tub that feels like sand. It's white and rubs off the sides easily then settles like sand in the bottom. The seats feel sandy. I figured something had changed with my town water supply and I bought a filter for my hose and for the next couple of water changes everything was fine. Then the sediment came back. I figured that my filter must have filled up so I bought a couple new ones. The next time I filled the tub, using a new filter, the sediment came back. So I drained it and did it again using both filters. I still have a lot of sediment! What has happened? The dishes in my dishwasher aren't accumulating scale. Is something in my old tub deteriorating and creating this sandy sediment? Do I just need to buy a better filter? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice!
