I did this on an old 220, all you need is a on-off temperature control, solid state relay and temperature probe, they sell them on ebay, I used the inkbird brand and now I've switched to the golander brand, both are around 40 dollars for the controller, ssr and probe. I buy the PID controllers and just configure them for on-off control. the temperature sensors are not perfectly watertight, I installed it by drilling a small hole in the back of the outlet pipe, where the existing temperature probe is and sealing with RTV and letting it cure before adding water. I've also installed an override switch to bypass the temperature controller and have it always on, we can run it for as long as we want, not limited to the 104 temp or the 20 minute run time. I recently got a resort 300 that needed a new shaft seal, which I fixed, but now I'm running into low voltage issues the pump keeps turning off, I'm thinking of installing an always on override switch to get around it.
