  1. greensoftub, did you ever solve the issue, I have a new resort 300, motor over heats in about 20 minutes, then after it cools for 30-40 minutes it turns on for another 20 minutes, rinse and repeat, it's frusterating, I did have a bad bearing, replaced it and replaced the impeller seal as that was leaking. I made sure the coil loop was free of obstructions, made sure water is flowing through it, the fan in the motor is in good condition, not sure what the issue is. not sure if the overheat switch goes bad, but it might not be because the back of the motor is too hot to touch. anyone else have other ideas?
  2. I did this on an old 220, all you need is a on-off temperature control, solid state relay and temperature probe, they sell them on ebay, I used the inkbird brand and now I've switched to the golander brand, both are around 40 dollars for the controller, ssr and probe. I buy the PID controllers and just configure them for on-off control. the temperature sensors are not perfectly watertight, I installed it by drilling a small hole in the back of the outlet pipe, where the existing temperature probe is and sealing with RTV and letting it cure before adding water. I've also installed an override switch to bypass the temperature controller and have it always on, we can run it for as long as we want, not limited to the 104 temp or the 20 minute run time. I recently got a resort 300 that needed a new shaft seal, which I fixed, but now I'm running into low voltage issues the pump keeps turning off, I'm thinking of installing an always on override switch to get around it.
