I’ve owned a home spa for about 2 years and after much browsing through this forum, I’ve settled into a nice routine. The only issue I haven’t been able to resolve fully is some moderate foaming that gradually increases over time. It’s not excessive, but it still irks me. I use a 3 step Bromine system and shock as needed with unscented bleach. I balance to a 0 LSI index with the following readings - Temperature 104 degrees, PH 7.7, TA 60 ppm, CH 150 ppm. I test weekly with a Taylor Technology kit, and use strips occasionally for a quick “finger in the wind” reading. Upon each fresh fill I use a prefilter, add one small dose of clarifier, and add Gentle Spa (borates) to lock in the PH. I also use a Zorbo floater. I suspect my foaming issue is due to a buildup of lotions/deodorant/etc. Short of forcing my wife to shower before entering (not gonna happen), is there any practical way to mitigate the foam? I’ve kicked around bumping the Calcium Harness to 200 ppm and/or adding an enzyme dose periodically. Any thoughts/comments would be much appreciated.
