Spa choice hobart

Hoping someone can shed some light on external heat pump control on the yj-3 gecko controller. In-grid won't work so want to add a relay from heater control to control heat pump remote start. Has any one done this or just run the heat pump using just the flow switch on the heatpump and set temp 1 degree over spa set temp.
