  1. Hello community! Ok, here's the thing. I own a Caldera Spa Geneva Utopia 2004. I love it, but it was left disconnected 10 years and now it's been brought back to life. Overall, when powered, everything works perfectly. Heats good, blower's good, pump 1 and 2 are good. I did disconnect the ozone system since the hoses were all broken and I really don't need it. Problem summary: - I turn on the spa. After 5 minutes, the cleaning cycle kicks in. Right now, a few minutes after the cleaning cycle is activated, the spa shuts off, and the 4 lines appear. First thing I tried is shutting off the heater breaker, and voila, spa does not shutdown anymore (partial solution #1). But what good is a spa that doesn't heat? soooo... Some tech guy told me that it was probably the recirculation pump that is not pumping enough, so the water in the heater system overheats, shutting off the spa... soooo, what I did was: Disconnect pump 1, pump 2, and blower from the mainboard (I did not disconnect the recirculation pump). I did this to isolate the heater and test if by only running it (along with the recirculation pump), 4 lines would still appear. Well, voila, problem is gone (partial solution #2), but I'm sacrificing the good stuff (massage and air). So, somehow, I'm stuckwith: Partial solution #1: Shutting off the heater braker = Having all the pumps and blower working, but not the heater. Partial solution #2: Disconnecting pumps and blower. Heater remains activated (and working), but no massage features are available. I'd appreciate any help/ideas I could get for this. Daniel
  2. Important to state, heater's not in use. Water temp is 87F and I have the heater configured to power on at 80. Still, would you recommend me changing the temp sensor? Is this temp sensor inside the black box in the heater assembly? Thanks.
  3. Update: I think I fixed it. Took apart the blower and no water present (check valve working fine), however I did unscrew the carbon brushes and moved them a little closer to the rotor. That seemed to do the trick. Apparently, if there's no good carbon brushes contact, there's a short. Blower is now working perfectly fine.
  4. Thanks, Is there a next thing to check before replacing the circ pump? could the pressure switch be causing this? Asking because when turning off/on, spa works fine for several hours before the four lines appear. If it was the circ. pump, wouldn't it be a more immediate issue? Which sensor are you referring to? I appreciate the help.
  5. Hello, I replaced the thermistor, and removed the filter, but still the four lines keep appearing in the LCD panel. You're talking about replacing the circulation pump, but pump seems to work fine. Actually the only thing running while the four lines are on display, is the circulation pump. Any way I could test the circulation pump theory? Any other ideas? Thanks
  6. Hello, I did not know it had 2 thermistors. Are they both on the same spot? Thanks
  7. Hello, I keep having this issue. Spa is connected, working normally, however (sometimes in hours, sometimes in a few days), suddenly there are four flashing lines in the LCD. The only pump working when this is present is the recirculation pump. I have to turn off the breakers, turn them back on, and it all works fine again. According to the manual: "SERVICE NOTE: All Caldera spas have diagnostic functions that are displayed on the control panel. The control panel will display four flashing lines if the heater high limit thermostat has tripped. If the four flashing lines are visible, follow the instructions in the troubleshooting section to identify and correct the cause. The four flashing lines will stop flashing once the problem has been corrected." So, I just bought a new high limit switch: https://www.hottuboutpost.com/caldera-advent-control-hi-limit-sensor-72492-2002-newer/ Troubleshooting guide states: "Disconnect power for at least thirty seconds to reset heater high limit. If it will not reset, check for clogged filter. If tripping continues, call for service" Important to state, filter is not clogged. Thank you.
  8. Hello, I'm new to this forum, and I'm hoping all of my Spa problems will be somehow fixed with your help and guidance. First one I want to address is this one. This Caldera Spa Utopia 2004 was disconnected from power over 10 years, and I recently reinstalled it. At first glance, it powered on normally, heater works fine, jets 1, jets 2, lights and blower work fine. One day, I uncover the lid, and it is completely turned off. Breakers are in the middle position (short). I turn them all the way off, and they cannot be turned on, they bounce immediately to the short position. I started disconnecting from the main board components such as heater (and tested breakers), and so on, until I unplugged the blower connectors, and then breakers finally were able to go up. Sometimes I can plug the blower and it works fine, however sometimes they present the mentioned problem. I have them disconnected right now. Any ideas? Why would they "work fine" and then be on a short out of the bloom.
