  1. @RDspaguy you are a hot tub hero. Thank you!!!
  2. @RDspaguy I'm also curious if you can link me to the specific products you like to use (for the liquid chlorine for example!) I live in a small town so I don't have access to a store (beyond where I got the funky advice) so I'll be ordering things online.
  3. @RDspaguy Thank you for the guidance! I have an HB19 with an ozonator. Can you explain why I have to drain and refill the water? And does the Ahhhsome product relate to the presence of the Nature 2 stick without the accompanying dichlor process? Just curious from the perspective of learning about how all of this works. I can't figure out if it is dangerous for the Nature 2 stick to be in the water without the Dichlor etc (understanding the product package says the dichlor "activates" it - and even if I can go in the tub just once before draining it and starting it all again or if that is problematic. It's winter where I am so refilling and bringing all of the water back up to temp is a multi day event. The tub is brand new and has had water in it for a few days. Thanks! -Amy
  4. @RDspaguy Thank you for this response - I'm a first time hot tub owner and overwhelmed by choosing how to start up the spa. I've poured over so many threads on this amazing site trying to decide. I had committed to trying the Nature 2 method when an employee at the supply store I was getting dichlor at to start the Nature 2 process convinced me that bromine was much easier to maintain. He said that when people use chlorine they are constantly coming in with issues balancing everything and he didn't seem to believe in Nature 2 - but this person also recommended the floating dispenser! If you were starting up from scratch what would you do? I was attracted to Nature 2 because of the low chlorine possibilities but now feel intimidated by the upkeep. I'm having a hard time committing to something because every time I commit to one I seem to encounter research or threads saying it's not the best way! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
  5. Hello! I JUST filled up my tub, and put in a Nature2 stick. I have not used any Dichlor, shock, or anything else other than some PH decreaser in the tub, and have no used it yet. After much research I had decided to go with the Nature2 low chlorine method, but today someone convinced me to go Bromine instead. Question- I know that Nature 2 can not be used with bromine, but since it has not been "activated" by the dichlor, can I simply remove the stick and then proceed with the bromine? Thanks! Amy
