  1. Hi all, I recently was given a very nicely maintained Hot Spring Sovereign, probably 95 or 96 model. Great shape and always kept indoors. 110VAC with Ozonator. It took a while, but I was finally able to get the water up to proper temp and everything seems to be working fine. The problem I'm having is with the ability to maintain the temp setting. There is no digital screen, just a dial. It has two separate temp probes (the copper wire, attached to an oblong copper probe) One is separate and by itself. The other group has 2 copper wires/probes. My understanding is that the single one goes inside the heating element and the other two are separated. One slides into the base/frame and insulated by a foam insulator, the other slides into the "outside" of the heater's insulated jacket. First, is this the correct place to put these probes? Or am I doing something backwards? I can't find a manual and have emailed Watkins, but nothing back yet. If they are all installed like that, even when the water temp drops down to 98, I can't get the thermostat to click on and heat up. If I leave the single probe in the heating element and remove the other two (leaving them out at room temp), the heater will go non-stop and overnight gets the temp in the water way above 104. (assuming this is because it turns on the heater, but never sees the water temp (in base or outside jacket of heater) go up, so it just keeps cranking out heat....😲 I know the actual thermostat seems to work because depending on where the probes are, I can get it to kick on and off. Just can't seem to get it consistently settle into a spot where I can dial the temp up or down with the knob. Any help is appreciated!
