  1. Odd, and hopefully better news on the leak. I turned off the tub yesterday evening in readiness to drain today after work. 18 hours later and the sign of water from the base has almost completely stopped. Weather conditions haven't changed so its not a case of the water drying faster off the floor. I've taken a reading of the water level as a reference. Unless there is a further leak, this is pointing me to the circulation or heating system. I had checked both the circ pump and heater unit with no obvious signs. I did notice a slight leak from air divertor knob on top last night, but thought this only came from secondary pump and no sign of leak underneath. I will recheck the circ pump and heater, but any other suspect parts of the circulation loop to check? For my learning, what loop does the circulation take when pumping? Thank you again for any advice and information.
  2. Thank you. Stupid question time: 1) drain, seal & cure, refill; or 2) leak fix product such as Marlig 3) sealant that can be used with tub full. I'm assuming 1) but wanted to check. I know nothing about Marlig other than a post on the net.
  3. Sorry, the image upload failed.
  4. Attached a photo as clear as I can take of the IX jet. Looks to me as if there is a seal failure on the left hand side, I could be wrong. @CanadianSpaTech your wisdom is appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Thank you for all the advice. I'm hoping it is not the issue. It sounds a monster to fix..... Jacuzzi have previously replaced the IX unit under warranty when the LED failed on the unit, that was 4 years ago. Doesn't mean the unit or seal it hasn't failed since, am slightly suspicious in anything that has been previously touched. I will keep digging and checking everything and keeping fingers crossed I find the issue. Thank you again.
  6. Thanks to the amazing advice from.. this forum, I successfully located and resolved the leaking waterfall on my loved Jacuzzi J480. Sadly another leak has sprung. I've checked behind all the panels and there is no obvious signs. Pumps, pipes and joints are all good. No obvious damp foam or wet staining. So I am guessing I have either just not found it yet or it is something that can only be accessed on the base, such as the IX jet assembly. Any tips on finding the culprit that I could do, and if it is in the base is it a job that I can tackle or do I need an expert? Many thanks again for the previous help and thank you in advance for any help with this one.
  7. RDspaguy, you were right. Clean, refit and clip back on and the leak still exists. I can see better now and the leak is come from above the plastic nut, so suspect a failure somewhere in the waterfall housing. Will order a new one tomorrow. Is it worth changing the other at the same time or just leave that one alone? Thanks again. Andy
  8. Got it. I was curling the toes on the wrong foot. Thanks.
  9. Theres a nut on the back that wont go past the pipe clip, so unless the hole in the tub will take the size of the pipe clip. Will keep investigating. Thanks again.
  10. Hahaha RDspaguy. Just takes a bit a time and effort. Everything worthwhile takes effort. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the advice. I'd still need to get the clip off to be able to remove the waterfall unless I snap of the plastic connector. For £42, approx 32 bucks, am tempted to buy a new one and fit it properly. At least I know it will be done properly and as RDspaguy says, a pipe with clip shouldn't leak.
  12. They are £42 each here in the UK. Struggling to get the clip off. Its awkward to reach but even with getting a good squeeze on it with long nose pliers or medium size mole grips, I cant move it. Its definitely opening, just not enough to move it. Is there a clever trick to this?
  13. Thank you again. I will carefully explore further. And see if it is a simple job or a damaged barb. Worst case and the waterfall needs replacing, it was replaced 3 years ago by Jacuzzi uk, is it a big job?
  14. And by Barb, do you mean the plastic that comes from the waterfall body itself.
