  1. Ok. Just came in from another look. Voltage is good coming in at 240, each leg contributing 120, and in proper phase. Good grounding. The only light that comes on on the board is a green light next to "limit ok". No current at heater, but it is not calling for heat. I'll see what the new temp sensor does when it comes in. If that doesn't fix it, I'll have to call a service person out of Louisville. Thanks again for the thoughts.
  2. Excellent questions. When I power up at the breaker, it goes thru a self test and then reads 104 for few seconds, which is what it is set at, then reads 115. I can change the desired temp up and down, and then it displays 115. I assumed that was what it thinks the temp is, but it could be an error code. No visible signs of a burned board. I do have a multimeter and will check to make sure both legs of power are good. I figured that since the pumps ran normally, the current was good, but maybe they run on one leg? As for current to heater, there is none, but I figured that was because it wasn't calling for heat. I'll take another look at the lights on the board and also check the incoming current and get back to you. Thanks for helping me think it thru. The Hot Springs dealer where I bought it went out of business last year so no one close to trouble shoot it.
  3. Ok. I've ordered a replacement temperature sensor and will let you know if it fixes the problem. I guess I'm a bit skeptical though, because even when I unplug the temperature sensor from the circuit board, it still says it's 115 degrees? I don't know where it gets a temp reading from if it is unplugged from the board, unless maybe a bad circuit board? Thanks for replies. Will keep you posted.
  4. I have a Hot Spot Tempo that is 5 yrs old. It is not heating at all. The heater element was replaced last year and still checks good on resistance. It has been doing fine until a week ago. The pumps all work on all speeds as usual. The water is cold (ambient winter temp), even though it is set for 104. For some reason, the display indicates that the water temperature is 115, even though its really VERY cold. I thought it would be the hi-limit temperature sensor, but when I replaced it with a new one, it still doesn't heat and still indicates 115. I tried to find a reset button but can't find one anywhere. The water circulates fine and the filter is clean. I assume that since it "thinks" the water is 115, it won't allow the heater to come on. But what is making it think it is 115? I found another sensor that is in the side of the tub and figured it might be the water temperature probe. I unplugged it from the board completely, but it still reads 115 degrees on the display. Any thoughts are appreciated.
