thanks! I can adjust my dispenser, and it is set at 3, which was working fine as long as we were using the tub....i tried changing the setting to a lower number but it didn't affect the bromine level and I ended up removing it for a while thanks for the advice

Hello, i noticed that the couple times I haven't used my hot tub for a week or more, the bromine levels build up and go from 3ish to 7-8...and that's without shocking or doing anything. I use bromine tablet and a dispenser. it is then hard to bring the levels down, and I usually end up removing the dispenser completely for a while. Is that normal? I always read that you need to shock at least once a week even when not using the tub, but wouldn't that bring the levels up to the roof? Am i missing something? PH was a bit high and TA a bit low, so I adjusted that.

I just received my Taylor K 2106 and it showed a level of 11ppm for bromine!!! while the test strips still showed maybe 1 or 2 at most. And I didn't change anything since I thought we would drain soon...now thats a crazy difference! So I guess I don't have a problem to keep my bromine levels up

We will be draining our spa soon since our TSD levels are already very high. We want to start over using the 3 steps bromine method and really hope it will work better for us. My question is that I currently have both MPS and chlorine shock. I know I can also use bleach, but since I have those bottles, I want to use them. When should I use the chlorine shock over the MPS one? Thank you!!

I have been several times to my pool dealer to test my water this last month, and every time, the CH levels come back different. Like completely different. one day it will be at 180, and next time at 350, and everything in between...When it was at 350, I was told to partially drain my spa and refill. I did not, and I'm glad I didn't because it was down to 200 a few days later, without me doing anything to it... Does the CH levels fluctuate like that or are these tests not accurate at all? I should say, same thing happened with the TA levels. One day it was too high, i didn't do anything and the next time it was too low..

Hello, we've had our new caldera salina spa for about 3 weeks now, with the in line spa frog bromine system. We cannot keep a good level of bromine in the water, no matter what we do! the highest we've seen it was at 2ppm and that was after shocking with an oxidizing shock treatment. Stayed up for a day and went back down to zero... Non chlorine shock doesn't seem to help at all, but we use it after every use. I don't use the chlorine shock as often, as I heard it is harsher on the tub and shouldn't be used on a regular basis. Would you say it's a biofilm problem from the wet testing done at the manufacture? We're planning on flushing and draining if it doesn't get better...I contacted Caldera who told me it was unlikely, but that we could super-chlorine the spa...haven't looked into that yet Also, i find it very hard to get good results from the test strips. we got the AquaCheck digital thing, but the results are always very different than the ones at Leslie's pool supplies...I tend to trust them more than the machine. Should I? Thanks!!

The spa came with the in-line spa frog chlorine system, but we decided to buy a bromine capsule instead of the chlorine one. We installed it yesterday following the instructions, and after putting a start-up shock treatment. 24 hours later, there was still 0 bromine in the water...took a sample to a pool supplies shop which confirmed our result. They recommended that we shock again, which we did , but still no level of bromine can be detected. This afternoon, I noticed a brown ring around the waterline and there seem to be a film on top of the water. Again, we haven't use the spa at all yet, I want to have the water balanced before we do. Any idea? I honestly don't know what to do

Thank you! I finally got to read the owner's manual and it actually states in the manual that the tub might have a little bit of left over water from the wet test. It says to simply wipe it dry before the fill the tub!

Hello, We just received our brand new Caldera Salina spa yesterday and noticed that there were little puddles of water on the seats, and the cover was wet inside...Do they rinse it before they deliver it and that's a left over? Is it normal? I will call the dealer but want to know first if it is common Thanks!

UPDATE We did manage to negotiate a bit and went for the Caldera Salina for $9350, brand new, tax included. It was the most spacious one for my husband ( 6'2").

Hi! We are looking at the sundance Chelsee, J365 and Caldera Salina. They all have been quoted at aroud $9600-9700 except for the J365 that we could get for $9234 for a 2016 floor model. Those are supoosed to be sale prices. for president day week end. 1.They dont seem to be willing to negotiate really. Is that common? They all went down from the original price before we even said anything, but that's their final price and that's it. 2. Are those reasonable prices? 3. Is it correct to assume to going to a lower series (j200, sundance 680...) might end up being more expensive because of shorter warranty, lower quality insulation...?We mostly want a spa for relaxation and dont need all kind of fancy jets. just something comfortable 4. My husband is 6'2'' and the Chelsee felt a little tight for him. any experience with that? Thank you!! Trying to make a decision pretty soon!!!

Hello, We recently started looking for a 5-6 persons hot tub. We have no experience and no idea what we're talking about but we're learning. We looked at jacuzzi, Caldera and Cal spas tubs. A sale person told us that Caldera was the best, and that we would not find any complaints about any model....we quickly find that to be wrong, even though it does seem to be a good brand.He then told us we could get the Geneva floor model for 10000, tax included, with cover, steps, delivery and so on...We went home trying to find what this spa goes for, but it's so hard to find prices anywhere!!!! It didn't seem like it would be an amazing deal from what we saw. Any opinion on that matter? and out of these 3 brands, which one would be the most reliable? Thanks
