  1. Signed up today just to see if anyone here might have some advice. We have a Caldera Martinique hot tub . . . I think it's about 12 years old or so. We had the heater shut down for the summer and all was fine . . . until we turned on the heater (via the circuit breaker) this fall to heat up the water. Shortly thereafter the hot tub started clicking. On the advice of our local dealer I tried running some Stain and Scale through the system as they thought it might be a build up due to hard water . . . no dice. Running the hot tub without the filter in place also had no effect on the clicking. All pumps -- jets and the circ pump -- work fine as does the heater. Other than the annoying click-click noise, the only other issue I have noticed is that the LED read out showing the tub's temp level keeps bouncing back and forth by one degree (i.e. 102-103-102-103, etc.) I opened up the tub and looked at the control board and noticed that sometimes -- not all the time -- the LED for the heater lights up in conjunction with the clicking. The tech suggested I replace the pressure switch (think that was the name) as we had never changed that out. For the first 10 or 15 minutes after turning the hot tub back on (we had turned it off for a few days) all was good. I was elated, thinking I had made the simple and relatively inexpensive fix . . . and then the clicking resumed. I should also mention that last year I changed out the thermistor and sometime before that I changed out the circ pump. The tech said he had a similar issue and he ended up throwing a lot of parts at the tub to the tune of somewhere around $1,500 before determining it was the heater board. Is there any way I can test the heater board without buying a new board . . . or conversely does anyone here have any suggestions as to what else to check? At this point I am starting (sadly) to think we may just shut this down for the winter and buy a new tub in the Spring.
