can someone help me with solution??, the pump only start in high speed, but if you quickly switch to low speed, the motor will operate in low

Recently replaced the Wet End to my pump because was leaking and the pump was working fine, but after the fix the pump motor does not kick into low speed, when started, but runs on high speed; When switching from high speed to low speed fast , low speed continues to run and when the cycle ends only start on high speed again . What could be the problem? Start or run capacitor? or switch? Pls help to find the right solution.
