  1. I am seeking opinions on a recent pool installation we had done by a local business. I feel that there are several deficiencies that could have been avoided or corrected, but so far, they have been unwilling to acknowledge these issues. To help me determine if these are valid concerns, could you please view the pictures linked in this message and reply with your thoughts on each point? That way, I'll know what they really should be correcting. Thank you very much for your help. - Should an oval pool be installed with a wall straighter than this? Please note the string, showing how the wall should align. The current store says it's impossible to do so: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wksa7s9v5bhemn/Photo%20Jun%2017%2C%202%2007%2051%20PM.jpg?dl=0 The wall should have been aligned to the yellow string, but is instead aligned to the white one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rqc25z3iuf2seuj/File_000.jpeg?dl=0 - The store we purchased from has said that gaps above the liner such as the one pictured here do not pose any problems. At least one other Pool Retailer has indicated that there should NOT be gaps such as this, and that they would be concerned about them. https://www.dropbox.com/s/t3yx52dut40oxgf/Photo%20Jun%2017%2C%203%2016%2052%20PM.jpg?dl=0 - In this photo, the pool wall and liner seem to be bent aggressively at the buttress location. Is this normal? What would happen to the wall and or liner after freeze/thaw cycles? https://www.dropbox.com/s/tt6ryt1hf43yae5/Photo%20Jun%2017%2C%203%2018%2043%20PM.jpg?dl=0 - The skimmer installed askew to the rest of the pool. Is this acceptable work? https://www.dropbox.com/s/3bfvpx5vveonqh8/Photo%20Jun%2020%2C%201%2047%2052%20PM.jpg?dl=0 - Should the pool wall have such deep concaved portions in it? The other side of the pool is not nearly as deep - approximately 2 inch difference from one side to the other. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gmdgva318f1ixab/Photo%20Jun%2021%2C%201%2025%2021%20PM.jpg?dl=0 - After the skimmer, pump and filter were connected, the installers didn't test anything. Once water was put down through the hose, we found a leak between the pump and filter. I tried tightening the connection, but the threads are not engaging, so it just pops back off again. I would have thought that the installers would have ensured that these parts were connected properly before leaving - Is that an unrealistic expectation? https://www.dropbox.com/s/6tgw018r5uob8np/Photo%20Jun%2021%2C%2011%2025%2023%20AM.jpg?dl=0 - Our city Electrical Inspector met with the installers on the date of installation and told them that the pool would have to be grounded and bonded - none of that has been done. Should the business we hired to do the installation take care of this? Thank you for your insight and advice. Brian
