  1. Hi Guys, Firstly I'd like to state that I'm a complete beginner with Spa's. Last fall I moved into a house that had a portable style spa come with it. It's a nice looking relatively new unit with the ozonator system built in. I drained it over the winter and now want to start it up again. I didn't realize the previous owners kept the spa chemicals (lithium, spa shock ...etc) outside. Over the winter we had some sustained freezing temperatures that the chemicals were subjected to (I live in Canada). I went to my local spa dealer for startup advice who said the chemicals should be thrown out now that they have been frozen. I'm wondering if he's just trying to sell me more chemicals (as I've realized their much more expensive than I originally thought) or if freezing temperatures would really ruin them or make them ineffective or dangerous to use. There is still a good amount left. I'm hoping someone here has some knowledge on this subject. Thanks for any help.
