  1. Start with Dichlor and try it out. If it bothers your skin, let the chlorine level drop to zero and switch to bromine. (switching from bromine to chlorine requires a water change). Be sure to dial in pH and alkalinity in both cases.
  2. A buddy of mine had a similar problem. His was plugged into an outdoor GFI outlet. Sometimes it ran fine and sometimes it would trip the breaker. Turns out that the freezer in the garage was on the same circuit. If the freezer was running, the hot tub coming on was enough to trip it. He had an electrician come out and move the hot tub to its own breaker. That solved his problem.
  3. We just bought a house that had been on the market for several months and it came with an above ground hot tub. Unfortunately the tub was not maintained and came down with a bad case of pink slime. I did the research and decided on the Dichlor decontamination sequence. Drained tub, scrubbed with mild soap solution, rinsed. Filled tub, added dichlor to about 100-150 ppm and ran it for 24hrs, cycling the jets for the first hour. The next day the water was clear with a barely perceptible cloudiness. I drained the tub and and I'm ready to refill and switch to normal bromine levels (wifey can't tolerate chlorine), however the white plastic interior is stained pink up to the water line. It appears to be *in* the plastic matrix of the hot tub and not on the surface. So on to the question: is there a way to safely clean/bleach the plastic back to white?
