  1. Thanks Chem geek, I did notice that I didn't even ask my original quesiton from the subject line for some reason. I got spa essentials super soft from the dealer with the hot tub with their start up chemicals. It doesn't have anything on it that shows what is in it, just that it makes the water softer and increases bather comfort, what ever that means. Is this similar to borax or boric acid? Thanks Brad
  2. Hi Everyone, Got the hot tub hooked up today, we have a sundance optima. I have a 2006 kit on order but it takes forever in Canada to get one. In the meantime I filled it up and checked PH and TA with the test strips and it came in at 7.4 and 80-100TA right out of the tap. Is that right? I would have thought it needed to be adjusted more. We are on city water. Also I measured diclhor and used Poolmath to work out 27g, which I converted to 1/4 cup to get 410 gallons from 0-10 FC. I just used a measuring cup, is that the right way or do I need a scale to measure everything out? Also the test strips that the spa store gave us measure, PH, TA and MPS. I asked them if it also measured FC and they said it should register on the MPS scale on the strips. I looked it up online but couldn't get any conclusive info. Will it measure FC or should I grab different strips while I wait for my test kit to arrive? Thanks in advance Brad
  3. Must not be many Canadians on here. For those who are interested I picked it up for $13,800.
  4. Hi Everyone, My wife and I are hot tub newbies but have been following the forums for a while. We are finishing our landscaping and have incorporated a spot for a tub off the deck and are ready to dive in to hot tub ownership. We have settled on a Sundance optima from our local dealer in Calgary, Canada after a good amount of testing. I have tried to push them on price and they have included a lot of extras but won't budge much on the pricing These are all in Canadian Dollars $14,795 - Sale Price(if that really means anything) $500 - Rebate from Sundance Steps (Included) Lifter (included) Spare Filters (Included) Chemicals (included) $300 Store Credit (included) Delivery and set up (included) Total $14,295 Is this a reasonable price for the Optima? Thanks in Advance Brad
