  1. i feel like i am getting slightly off topic with this thread, i just wanted advice on what i can to do eliminate or reduce the "TEA EFFECT" tanin leaching out in the water... it happens like clockwork when fresh water is put in... this last about 6 weeks before turning DARK TEA COLORED... i have had the tub for over TWO YEARS now and it shows no sign of slowing down.. i have read on a thread someone suggested SODA ASH.. can you give any advice or thoughts on this... thank you.
  2. hi no we have the ozone/ionization system... what they say is the "best" way to clean.. my issue is with the water still turning brown and i understand that chlorine may be the only way to solve this problem.. but there are also numerous people on blogs and threads that say you should NEVER put chlorine in a wooden tub... so consider me know doubly confused! LOL
  3. here is the link to their "cleaning system choices" http://www.cedartubs.com/chemical-free.html
  4. northern lights... i a kinda shocked by what you are telling me... that the ozone system does not sanitize the tub... this is opposite to what they sell.. so now i am completely confused.
  5. HI the ozonator/ionizer system is sold by the company as the BEST method of sanitizing your tub without have to use any chemicals.. the water is very clean and lovely, its the wood that is still leaching out tanins... can you provide any further help with this? it seems like it is not going to stop. we have tested for metals (iron) in the water and regularly do copper testing with kits all read regular... and we have the ozonator/ionizer set to standard cleaning for 2 people using.. thanks
  6. Hi, hoping i can get some help. i have had my cedar tub for 2 years... and the water is still turning brown! I believe this is tanin leaching... like clockwork, i will fill the tub with clean water (it is coming from my well.. in upstate new york) and within 6 weeks it will be dark dark tea colored. I use an ozone system for sanitizing.. all water levels are good, we usually only need to add calcium to the water... can anyone shed any light on this... TWO YEARS LATER! i have had ZERO help from the hot tub company i bought this from... its crickets.. thanks all.
