Bump? Suggestions most welcome. What would be involved in tiling the vertical edge where the 2 x slabs are visible?

Hi, we our pool edge reveals two distinct slabs or layers. The top slab is 5 years old and the lower slab 30+ years. I would like to improve the look or conceal the edge of the lower slab. The company that did our interior polished concrete floors has been researching micro coatings such as http://www.wrmeadows.com/meadow-patch-t2-concrete-resurfacer-repair-mortar/ However, the company he spoke to was concerned that moisture between the slabs may lead to the application cracking. My pool guy discussed using Aquafin to fill the void, but it would still need some sort of topping. Any possibility of tiling the vertical surface?
