  1. Has anyone had any experience with water level dropping only in winter? Details, have had in ground fiberglass pool for 8 years. Am used to water level dropping over winter. Last spring when the cover was removed the water was noticeably lower than the past 6 years. The pool tech who opened the pool last Spring said it was normal. That is their standard answer to every question. This winter was really harsh here in Michigan. We got 7 feet of snow more than double the average. The ice and water on the power cover was incredible. It never melted until this week and I finally pumped the water off the power cover. The pool water level is now 4-6 inches lower than last years lower than ever level. Could the weight of the snow and ice on the cover have pushed down on the pool water and pushed it up and out of pool? The pool does not drop water in summer.
