  1. I bought the Bullfrog 462! It will be delivered Tuesday or Wednesday. I also ordered the three pack starter kit from the Natural Hot Tub Company.
  2. Thanks. The old tub my ex-wife took was a Hot Springs. She won it...some type of contest....guessing the # of ping pong balls in the tub. I'm not sure of the model, but this was back in 2000 or 2001. Maybe it was a Classic....it was smaller...possibly 4-5 people. We had alot of repairs done to it. I think they gave us a refurb. I recall we paid our handyman around $600 to wire the 220 hookup. Hopefully this wiring will work for the Bullfrog?!?
  3. I took a pic of the Bullfrog 462. It has some green mold on the cement near the base. Is this the sign of a leak? I'll be talking to the seller Friday evening. http://imageshack.us/a/img443/2734/n6fx.jpg
  4. The Hot Springs dealer takes trade in tubs. If I buy the bullfrog and don't like it, I imagine I could get most of my $1,800 back by trading it in. Anyone know how much to expect on a trade in? TIA.
  5. We just started looking for a hot tub. We found a used 2010 Bullfrog 462 on CL for $1,800. The owner recently moved and drained it. It smelled a little funky when we lifted the cover. He paid $6,500 new in August 2010. I'm not sure if the last two years of the warranty will transfer and I'm concerned about thoroughly cleaning a used tub. Also, the tub would mainly be used by just me and my woman. I'm 6'1" and would like a lounger in the tub. However, at $1,800 this seams like a pretty good deal! I happened to know the owner (I don't know him well) and he seems like a guy who takes care of stuff. It would only have to be moved to the other side of town...less than three miles. I have yet to contact the place he bought it from to get a quote on moving it. Possibly they would even clean it to like new for a fee and set it up. Today we saw a new 2013 Hot Springs Sovereign. It has a lot of nice features and also has a lounger, more of the design I'm looking for. The quote I was giving was for a floor model. If I paid in full I could get it for approx. $9,975 out the door. This is with the following: cover 220 sub panel (I already have a 220 hookup from the tub my ex-wife took with her) delivery start up chemicals Ace salt sanitizer system steps easy open lifter Of course there is at least a $7k difference in price of each of these tubs. Is the Bullfrog a steal at $1,800? I have to get back w/ the seller by Thursday. Is the $9,975 out the door price a good one for a floor model 2013 Sovereign? My woman is hesitant on buying a used hot tub and doesn't think it can be thoroughly cleaned. We just started looking. I don't really want to spend $10k on a nice tub, but will if needed. Are there other brands/models that are a better bang for your buck than the Sovereign? Or is the Sovereign top of the line with it's filtration system? What other new tubs should we consider? I initially had a $5k budget in mind, but I'm flexible. TIA.
