  1. My pool is off level by about 3 inches and has bulges on the sides from where the concrete contractor left it exposed for several months and water got under the pool. Two corners of the pool are pushed up and one long end is curved inward. He has taken off and I'm now trying to find out if the pool is salvageable. I've had several concrete contractors come by and said they could pour the concrete. One person said that I really should dig the pool out and re-set it to fix all of the problems or else I run the risk of the pool or the new concrete cracking. My question is: has anyone ever dug out an existing fiberglass pool and re-set it? What were the results? Thanks for your comments -
  2. We've got an unlevel fiberglass pool that has raised up about 3 inches in the shallow end from the normal waterline. I'm talking to pool companies now about what our options are for trying to visually cheat the eye with new cantilevered coping or other options. One person said that he has actually cut the top off of coping in order to bring down the level of unlevelness by a few inches and then put the cantilevered concrete coping over it. I have never heard anyone else mention this technique for dealing with an unlevel pool and was wondering if anyone else has either done this or knows of people who have. I'm wondering if this will make the pool or the decking more vulnerable to structural problems down the road. Thanks for your input.
