  1. There is an Aspen dealer near where I live and we looked at their tubs. There was practically no insulation when we pulled the side panel off. The kicker for us was the construction of the tub. We had a mouse problem with our old tub and the Aspen had over a 1 inch gap in two of the four corners of the tub. This was an obvious construction issue because you were able to feel the threads of the corner screws when you stuck your fingers under the corners. The dealer said they have a woodshop on site and could fix but that wasn't good enough for me. I say if they didn't build it right the first time then why would I want to buy it? We bought a Hot Spot soon after.
  2. Well, we put our deposit down on the Hot Spot Rhythm today and will hopefully get it delivered within a few weeks. The Fibercor, price, reputation, and good experiences of people here definitely helped us make up our mind. The dealer threw in some extras and my wife liked the tub when she saw it. Thanks for all of your feedback with this.
  3. Well, I'm glad to hear good things about the Rhythm, the price is definitely very appealing since this wasn't a planned purchase. Do you feel that the bottom is tightly sealed so rodents can't get in? What are your thoughts on the insulation? We live north of Chicago and it gets pretty cold in the winter... which is when we'll use the tub most. Also, does anyone have anything good or bad to say about LA Spa?
  4. Hi, I've been lurking for a while, reading reviews, and think this forum is great with a lot of knowledgable people. We're trying to decide which tub to buy and are stuck between two models. We can buy the Hot Spot Rhythm for $5850 out the door, installed, and with the extra goodies. We also found a LA Spa Maui LS with a "winter package" for $6600 out the door, installed, with a cover lift. I like the construction of the Maui a little bit more because of the ABS pan, the heavy foam insulation, and the fit and finish. Our current hot tub had a wood base and we had a mouse problem and this tub is solid around the bottom edges. The Maui also has the collar jets, more jets, and lit knobs. The Rhythm is a nice tub but has the "stapled plastic sheet" over the wood type base which I would rather not have after our rodent problem. I like the LED lighting and color combination of the tub but it has less jets. I keep hearing Hot Springs/Hot Spot tubs are well built and the price is definitely more appealing to us. Both tubs are floor models so we're limited to these if we want the sale price. Both dealers are nearby and seem to have good reviews. Any advice or thoughts to help us make our decision is greatly appreciated.
