  1. I have a 12V Swimquip light that is no longer working. I have traced the issue to either the cord or the light housing, as the fuse in the Pentair power supply blows, but does not when the light cord is not connected. I have placed an Ohm meter on the new assembly hot and common and get much greater resistance than the installed pool light, which signifies I have a short in either the light housing or the cord. I do not have continuity from the hot or common to ground. I have purchased a new Swimquip light and cord assembly but I am unable to pull the cord through the conduit. The pool was built in 1977 and enclosed indoors in 1978. The conduit on the supply side appears to be copper; I cannot identify the material at the pool side. Should I attempt to wire the new Swimquip light to the existing cord (they appear to be different diameter cords so I don't know if the water tight fittings are interchangeable)? Or is there a good method for trying to remove the cord from the conduit that I haven't tried. Is there something in the niche that needs to be loosened in order to pull the cord?
