Thanks for the info, Scott. If I drain the pool, would it be easier to get rid of the algae?

I recently converted to Pristine Blue from salt. The computer circuit board that tells my salt cell to make chlorine went out, so my husband decided to try Pristine after hearing about it from some friends who love it. Now I have black algae that I cannot get rid of! I am ready to drain the pool and start over. And switch back to salt. Help!
