  1. I pulled the valve out tonight, you are CORRECT! There is no gray rubber part attached to it. It's just bare, white plastic. Thanks for the help. Hmmmm, wonder where the rubber part is now? I pulled the one from the other side that runs the neck jets and it's the same way. Guess I'll be ordering two or more to keep on hand.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I plan on ordering one. i did take the valve out but didn't see any problems with it. Do you know if there are any o rings on this valve? This is what it looks like. This picture isn't showing any o rings. Got to be a way for it to seal. http://thespaworks.com/parts/general-spa-parts-catalog/spa-valves/diverter-valves/1-inch-onoff-neck-jet-and-waterfall-valve.
  3. I bought a used 2011 Marquis Wish hot tub. Finally got the wiring run, she's now filled up and running. When pump one is on the waterfall comes on. There is a waterfall zone control / valve on the hot tub. When I turn the control the waterfall starts to slow down, as I continue to turn, to what should be off in my opinion, the water starts coming out faster. I pulled out the valve, didn't see any problem. Does anybody know or have a Marquis tub that could tell me if this control should close off the waterfall water or a way to keep it from running without turning off pump 1. I don't like listening to it run all the time. Thanks for any help. Saff
  4. Thanks for the info. I did look that up. Just seems strange, they've been around a long time but nobody on here seems to have any info on them. I thought maybe someone on here might have purchased a spa from them. Kind of find their insulating technique interesting.
  5. Anybody ever hear of this company good or bad ? They manufacture spas in Williamsport, PA. I can't seem to find much real info on them except the company line. Just curious since the the spas are made in USA. There's a local guy here in town selling them and I might be in the market for another tub. Thought I would ask the people who knew best. http://www.pdcspas.com/
  6. How many times has the power gone out in your area and for how long? Well last year during winter,we had two really bad storms. the first time it was out 3 days , the second 6 days. Some neighboring counties were out for more than 2 weeks.
  7. This is my first year owning a spa. It has been fantastic so far. I haven't had many water problems or any problems so far with the new Sundance. My question is, what do you do if the power goes out for an extended time (days)during extreme winter conditions? If the temps are down in the low teens and you have no clue when the power will come on , what is the course of action here? Thanks for all the help on this site. Saff
  8. I have a 2012 Sundance Hamilton. I was less then pleased with the fit of the side panels along the shell. One side was fine, but the other 3 had 3/8 to 1/2 gap between the shell and panel. You really can't raise the panel up because then it doesn't line up with the bottom ...looks like crap. I ended up going to Lowes and buying the stick-on weather stripping in various sizes. It worked fairly well and you really cant tell unless you know what your looking for. They even carry some round tubing insulation that I put in the corners. It worked best by taking the panels off and sticking the insulation on top of the panels, then when you slide the panels back up to the shell they fit tight. Just measure your gap first and get the water resistant insulation. Hope this helps. I also went back to the dealer and checked out other Sundance and Jacuzzi models. Looks like all of them have some sort of gaping in the panels and shell. Not sure if normal or just bad quality control. I was also worried about heat loss, plus mice and insects, etc.
  9. Just bought my spa a few months ago. I was sure I wanted the Sundance Chelsee until I took a wet test. I'm 6'1" and I tried every corner seat out in that baby. I felt like I was riding a tricycle , my knees were up way to close to me. I'm not sure why, but I also seem to float around in all the seats too. Not sure if that was from the foot well jets or what. I ended up buying a Sundance Hamilton. People kept telling me not to buy a lounger but thats what I did. I am extremely happy with it. I have plenty of room to stretch out and I don't float around at all. Most people also told us that women don't like loungers cause they float around in them, well that is not the case with my wife. I can't get her out of my seat...LOL Hope this helps. http://www.sundancespas.com/780series/chelsee/
  10. I have been using the Nature2 system since I bought my first spa back in June. It's a Sundance Hamilton and it came set-up to use with that Nature2 system. I find it to be a very simple system to use. I just followed the instructions, the ones you quoted and have never had any problems with my water yet(knock on wood). Like chem geek said, you do need to add a small amount Dichlor / chlorine once a week or so to keep it sanitized. I've had no problems with any negative or sensitivity to the chemicals . The MPS does tend to lower the pH in my opinion so you need to keep an eye on that.Even if your not using your tub for a few days you still need to keep an eye on the MPS as it burns off rather quickly. People who have come over to use my tub can't believe how clear my water is. This is just my experience with Nature2 and I have no knowledge about the other systems and how they work. Oh! one last thing, make sure you fill your spa, flush the system with a spa flush product and drain before you try adjusting your water.
  11. Found this, may help. http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24951
  12. In my opinion, you should definitely level your spa. From everything I've read, the water line should be just over the top of your jets AND just under the pillow line. If your pillow is now sub-merged, I believe your going to have problems with deterioration,dis-coloring ,etc. If the spa is 4 inches out of level, are the jets under water on the high side ? or do you just have it over- filled to compensate for that?
  13. I have also used the SeaKlear Spa system flush with great results. i used this product on a brand new spa and was shocked how much gunk came out of the spa. Glad I listened to people on this board. Filled & flushed system prior to use. Cant imagine the water quality if I had not done that. I'm a big fan of all Seaklear products.
  14. O K, I'll take a sample down to local pool store. They do testing there. They already gave me a bottle to bring in a sample the last time i stopped for chemicals Thanks for the advice. Saff.
  15. Most of the time there are only two people using the tub. I always check for MPS before using the tub. I don't treat with MPS before use but treat right after getting out. All my test are done with strips (I know, a big no no on this board) . One other thing. Almost all my foam is caused by two neck checks close to top of water . This is the high side of the tub . All other jets when turning on air cause very little foam at all. If i run the pumps full on, with no air introduced, there is no foam forming.
  16. My ph is at 7.2 hardness low end is 150 high 250 mps is normal FC is at 3, that's a little high but I just weekly shocked the other day. TA is normal Using Nature2 , MPS and Dichlor once a week or as needed
  17. Newbie here. Only had my tub for about a month now. I would like to know what is considered normal foaming or should the tub foam at all? Seems to me when you introduce air into the water you're gonna have some kind of foaming occur. Now is this normal? I have white foam bubbles, there's no scum or dirt rings. So my question is, should I be adding a de-foamer for all foaming ? What's normal and what is not? thanks, Saff
  18. Called Pool City , left message. Tech guy did called me back. They are mailing me out another jumper. Tech said the 3-4 jumper stays on and to put the other jumper on 5-6 for the 60 amp. Hope this helps someone else.
  19. Should I turn off the main breaker to the spa when there are severe thunderstorms in the area? Hate for the power to kick off and on while running. Thanks , Saff
  20. The Sundance Hamilton 2012 is all hooked up and running now. I used 60 amp service because the Dealer was supposed to have the tub set for the heater to stay on while both pumps were running on high...NOT! Looks like the jumper is set to 3-4 (two pumps) and there was no jumper on 5-6 which said for 60 amp. Put a call in to the Dealer but the Manager was off today. So my question is ; do I need to put another jumper on 5-6 or move the jumper from 3-4 to activate the heater when both pumps are on high? Thanks for any help. Saff
  21. That's probably a good idea. I should have the power hooked up within a week. Bought all the stuff, just need to have my electrician /friend do the Main Power box and GFIC box. I'm also going to flush it out then refill.
  22. Ha Ha , thanks Chas. I plan on starting my own list
  23. Thanks 4 guys showed up this morning. everything went smooth. they unpacked her ( Miss Hamilton) as I like to call her...lol , set her into place, installed the cover, went over check list and they were gone. Very efficient system . You could tell they have been doing this awhile. One leader, rest taking orders. Very happy with the Dealer and the service. Now lets hope the thing works when I get around to filling her up. Damn that almost sounds kinky
  24. Newbie here. I will be taking delivery of a new Sundance Hamilton today. This will be our first hot tub. We are in the process of completing a outdoor living area and this is the first item that's going on the patio. It will be a while before I get to fill it up. I want to get the landscaping done around the concrete patio first. I would hate to have the tub filled with dust & dirt so i will just keep it covered up for now. Still, I will be excited just the same to have it sitting there I've been reading many articles on this site and just want to thank everyone for the valuable information. I won't be posting much but I will definitely be on this site quite often. Saff
