It did start to clean yhe pool , so far I have added 20lbs. of shock, how much more do I need to add?

I have a 16x32, vinyl inground pool. I haven't opened it since 2009, when we took the cover off Monday, it was black. On Tuesday I added 5lbs. of shock, the filter has been running 24.7, the poolis still black. I also have air blowing out of one of the return lines, what can I do?
