I have a Polaris PB4-60 Booster pump that I recently unhooked from everything to put a new seal in as it was leaking. After I re-installed it just the way it was and turned it on it made a lower sound than normal then tripped the breaker. I checked the wiring and tightened the grounds and tried again, it ran for a moment (I could see the cleaner's hose tighten up like it does normally) and then it tripped again. This time though I noticed a almost burning smell was coming from the pump so i left it alone for a day or two. I came back today and tried it again and it did the same thing after no more than ten seconds, I did notice even after that short of a time that the outer metal of it was pretty warm for running that short of a time.
Is there anything I can do to save this pump, or is it time to replace some part or the whole thing?
