This probably been asked before but I didn't see anything jump out at me. I have been reading several of the posts and this seems to be the place with the great information.
I had a tub installed on the 6th and filled the tub with about 350 gallons of water and put in the bromine floater with seven tablets, opened three slots as advised by the spa seller. Yesterday I added the packet ( 2.0 oz ) that I was supposed to add when I filled the tub.
Today the bromine level is only 1 ;
The Alk is 80 which is in range;
The Ph is 8.0 , day before yestreday I added 2 Teaspoons of spa down, and today I added another 2 teaspoons of spa down;
The CH reads 50. Yesterday I added 1/4 cup of calcium hardness increaser, with no noticeable difference today's reading. Today I added 1/3 cup of Calcium hardness increaser.
Also yesterday I added 16 oz metal gone.
The readings have read the same for each of the three days that I have tested. The water here is really bad about leaving mineral deposits on everything.
I mix the chemicals in a bucket of water then add them to the spa, then run the jets for a while.
Does it just take a while for the stuff to work or do I need to try something else.
I sincerely appreciate any assistance and advice you may offer, I have been reading several of the posts and it seems that this is the place to be for information.
Thanks,
RB
