  1. LOL, True. I would like to do both and even look into a thermal blanket as well. How do those thermal blankets stay from being sucked into the filter area? I like having a hot tub, but the winter electric bill makes me feel like a broke man standing naked in the snow w/ only a hat on!
  2. It was a totally random thought, so how the foil insulation was/is to be hanged from the bottom I'm still unsure. I was originally thinking two pieces, w/ the middle untouched. I'm just trying to think of alternatives to putting all the insulation inside the cabinet. My electric bill was completely outrageous last year and I NEVER used it and left the temp all the way down at 59 degrees the entire winter. I've heard not to use those thermal blankets and cannot remember why I was told not to. I'll post pic's of my tub when I can (cpu storing all my picks crashed).
  3. Wow, I've been looking for talk on this topic and looks like I found the jackpot here! I also have an LX5000 GCS and don't want to scare you, but w/o added insulation the electric bill is nasty. I'm looking to do exactly the same insulation setup tomorrow in hopes to reduce my elec. bill. I live in Ohio, so the weather can get pretty cold in the winter. I wanted to thank everyone for there input and had one question that hopefully someone has not already answered and I maybe I overlooked it. Has anyone tried to put that reflective bubble foil insulation on the bottom of there hot tub cover so that the "reflective" side faced the water? Thanks again all for the info!
