  1. This is the downside to this type of lifter. It's a VERY common problem.

It's unfortunate that folks with disability issues think this lifter will be any easier than any others. The most difficult part of raising the cover is flipping back the first half. None of these lifters help with that, and after that, removing the rest of the cover is easier with any lifter.

  2. It could be from any number of "components". It could also be a dirty filter, or not enough water in the spa. You could try pushing to have some arbitrary component changed...but you know that saying about a snowball? It has a better chance.

The dealer needs to come out, and diagnose the problem under warranty. THEN, after it's been properly diagnosed, it can be fixed.

  3. First, you're in the UK? Spaform is long out of business.

What you're experiencing is normal. Most homes in the UK, and even most of Europe, have rather small electrical services (in the US most homes have 100amp - 200amp main service panels...many European homes have a 40amp service).

IF, you change it from 30 to 50 amps, it may then operate the heater and high speed pump at the same time (I'm not familiar enough with this particular unit to say for sure), HOWEVER, make sure your home has enough power for this, AND ALSO have your electrical wiring feeding the spa inspected to be sure it's LARGE enough to handle that much current (it's probably not and will need to be upgraded).

LASTLY, be careful taking advice from here. The UK has VERY different electrical requirements than the USA and someone NOT familiar with that could easily give the wrong advise by mistake.

  4. There's a reasonable possibility that what it says on the motors, isn't exactly correct (VERY common practice to "fudge" on the rating plate on a motor to make the consumer "feel better"). There are multipule ways to get the rating of a motor, which will give different HP,s...but the required impeller size never changes.  I'd go through the trouble to get the exact same impeller that was in there in the first place, rather than risk burning up the motor, or blowing out the plumbing from excessive pressure.
