  1. Gentlemen, Thank you for your knowledge. Reading the link to what is not taught, you would be surprised to know the updates in the course that you mention is not taught, really is. I took the course from Pool Operations Management out of New Jersey. They were quite thorough in their teachings. Like I said, that, and we had people that wanted to learn, not those that were thrown in because their bosses said they had too. There were Property Managers, Company employees and Business owners. It looks like the 2006C is the way to go. The price quoted by the offering site is less than I would be paying for a lesser kit at a retail establishment. I will be purchasing it after a few more avenues of investigation are completed. I'm usually pretty quiet unless I have something to offer. I read and learn from varied sources. Again, I appreciate your help, and look forward to reading this and other forums to increase my knowledge to provide my customers the proper care. Fins
  2. Hi folks, Newbie here, (Gawd, I hate that title) and have done a bit of searching both logged in, and reading as a guest, to see if I could answer the question without asking a generally basic question. A bit of preface here first; I'm new to the professional side of pool care, but not to residential, (read) ownership of a few different types of pools. In ground, and above ground. I've taken a few of them, and turned them from pools you wouldn't want to get in to, into sparkling clear, well balanced pools. And with happy owners I might add. Today I completed my CPO class with a 58 out of 60 grade. 97%. For a 12 hour crash course, I consider this great. It was a small class with people that wanted to learn, so that made it easier. My big question is, and I see so many different answers, it's hard to differentiate the ones that will do the job for my needs. I need a top of the line residential pool water test kit. I'm leaning toward the Taylor H-2006, but not sure if it gives all the readings I want. I want to test for pH, TA, Calcium Hardness TDS, FC, TC, CC. Can the proper kit please be recommended so I don't waste precious funds on something that won't live up to the standards I need. The test kit is going to be my sales person against the 'splash and dash' cons that operate within the area. (South Florida) When potential customers see for themselves the condition of their water, their filtration system, and the outright condition of the pool finish, they are sure to grant me the opportunity to serve them with the right service, at the right price. I'm not looking to 'get rich', just provide a decent living for myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Fins
