  1. Hello, New member, first post. I have a 2000 model Ottawa spa by Great Lakes Spa. The spa came with the house and was in a state of disrepair when I moved in last month. The spa is mostly fixed now but there is still a problem with the pump operation. When the spa is inactive for a few hours the pump will not operate in low speed. This prevents the automatic filter cycle from starting, and also prevents the spa from maintaining the proper temperature. I can termporarily alleviate the problem by pushing the JET button which starts the pump in high speed. This initially works to turn the pump on in high speed or turn the pump off. However, after the pump has run in high speed for about ten minutes, both pump speeds work properly again. Everything works fine until the pump turns off for a while or after the next filter cycle and the pump is inactive for an hour or so. I don't know if it this is a pump motor problem or a circuit card problem (Balboa instruments 410E or 411E control system). It seems to me that if the card was bad, the low speed wouldn't work at all. Maybe the pump motor is failing and must 'warm up' by running in high speed for some time before the low speed will work again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don
