  1. Can anyone tell me if this is normal for large bubbles to come out of my returns each morning after the pump has been off overnight? Now I do have a Ozone generator however the bubbles that come out are very small when the pump is running. In the video you can actally see the small bubbles but then you see the large bubbles for about 5 seconds. Here's a link to the video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7CTPO-1xVE Thank You!
  2. I have Oak trees around my pool and have been getting the pollen in my pool which is turning it green. What is my best course of action with chemicals and/or maintance to get the green out of the pool? Also is there anything I can do next year prior to the pollen falling out of the tree to at least minimize the pollen's affect on the pool water?

  4. I'm curious if an electronic water tester is worth spending the money on. There are two I'm looking at, one is the Aquavizor (lesliepool.com) and the other is Aquachek Trutest (lesliepool.com). I haven't been succesful in finding any reviews on the web about either of these. Does anyone have any experience with either one of these electronic water testers?
  5. UPDATE!!! The Diamond Tiles and spacing of Tiles has been fixed. Instead of cutting them out Anthony & Sylvan had the Tanning Ledge, steps and spa seats plaster completey replaced. The pool is been filled back up as I type this and I will post pictures soon!!!
  6. I never noticed this, probably because I was so pissed that this happened. Now I'm really fired up and will take a closer look as soon as the Austin Ice Strom clears up. Thank you for pointing this out!!! Russ
  7. Here's a link to see Pics of Pool and Diamond Tiles. You will see the gray tiles around the water line and the blue Diamond Tiles. The color we were suppose to get was drak gray. http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLandingSi...mshare&Ux=0
  8. I just had a pool built by Anthony & Sylvan (our Rep Ray Jackson) here in Austin. We had a pool and spa done that is roughly 16,000 gallons with a 400,000 BTU heater. I interviewed 4 different builders and felt that Anthony & Sylvan had the best design, experience and no complaints on the BBB. The pool came out great and the entire process was smooth. They did make a error with our diamond tiles (see my post entered 1/11/07 by Russ). Now Anthony & Slyvan wasn't the most expensive and they weren't the cheapest. I just wanted a great quality pool without the headaches. Now regarding the heater, the other night I heated the spa for the first time. The water was 52 degrees which took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to 102 degrees. When I turned on the heater I checked the gas meter and it took 3 1/2 Therms to get to 102. We were in the spa for another hour which took a total of 5 1/2 therms. Our last gas bill the cost of a therm was running .94 cents and if you include the other fees and taxes it was around a $1.45 a therm. So I figured out that it will run me about 8 dollars to heat from the mid 50's to 102. Now we are in the cold months and as the water heats up during the spring of course it will heat up faster because the pool water temp will be higher while using less gas and gas tends to decrease in price as we get into spring and summer. I also have the option to heat the pool which I don't plan on doing because it will proably cost around $60 to get it to 78 degrees and not really sure what it would cost to keep in in the high 70's consistently. But I do have the option to heat the pool water up faster in the spring so we can start using it earlier in the spring. Now I don't think solar would work with our pool due to the trees around our house and how the sun hits our house. The only way we could do solar I think is put the panels on the front part of our house's roof because that is where the sun would hit it directly through out the day. Plus I don't think our HOA would allow this because it would be seen from the street. Good Luck!!!
  9. We recently had our pool plastered with CrystalStone. When they did the 2"x2" diamond tiles around the steps, swim out and spa seat that are spaced 1 foot apart they used the wrong color tiles. The contractor will fix this by cutting the tiles out then reinserting the correct color tiles. He would patch around the new tiles with the same CrystalStone material. He said that it will look fine but could take a few months to match the existing CrystalStone. My concern is that it won't look like it does now. I'm afraid that you will be able to notice that somthing was done around the tiles even if you didn't know what happened. I'm also concerned with possible problems in the futurelike the material that was filled in after the tile being reinserted coming apart and/or leaking into the gunite. Can anyone give me advice on what I should do, have it fixed or just leave it alone?
