  1. I just bought a 2011 Flair myself and the $6300 is a good price. I love mine.
  2. Ordered the Flair unit. Should be here March 7th. Will post pics once set up.
  3. this is correct, and just to clarify the ACE can be installed on any Hot Spring built on or after August 5, 2009 and on any Limelight built just after Aug. 2010 SCSPAUESER which Limelight did you end up with? and make sure to post some pics when you get it all setup
  4. I had a tub with bromine for the past 7 years and just ordered a 2011 Limelight with the Ace system. I wet tested the Ace system and it was great, they told me the reason that prior models to 4th quarter 2010 for the Limelight don't have Ace available is because the controller isn't set up for the salt and the internal components are somewhat different to be able to handle the salt system. I will have the tub in 2 weeks, can't wait! Good luck.
  5. A friend has their Bromine generator that you toss in the tub he likes it but said he still has to test and add chemicals so he wouldn't buy it again knowing what he knows now. He has a high use situation - 4 teenage kids daily use. Having said that everyone that has the Ace system seems to like it. So for another $100 over the Freshwater III I'd take a gamble, but I like techie stuff and it's your money I gambling with. If you do it I want to know how it works because I might buy one too. My biggest concern would be how long they last. Dave here is an interesting read on salt water pools/spa mostly pool focused. They mention using an ozonator with the chlorine generator. http://phoenix.about.com/cs/wet/a/saltpool01.htm
  6. HotTubWorks.com is a good resource. I ordered a cover there 4 years ago and it was excellant quality and good price.
  7. Thanks for the help. I am also looking at the silver ion method. My local Hot Springs dealer has agreed to put this and an ozonator on a floor model Limelight Flair tub at no additional cost so it would save me $1000. Guess I will wait until I wet test the salt system this afternoon before making that call.
  8. On the chlorine I'm not sure about dichlor, just used what the spa dealer sold. But I did use the shock. I need a new tub anyway so I am leaning towards getting the salt system and from earlier reads in this forum I am also buying a Taylor test kit to use as well. I only used test strips in the past so I don't think I really knew how good or bad my water was. And the Ace system does produce chlorine. My wife had no problems with previous water set up just me.
  9. Hi, I have had a hot tub for about 7 years and always used bromine or chlorine as a sanitizer. No matter how closely I managed and kept them within range I always get a rash. ( I get a rash if I use fragrant soap too so sensitive skin for sure), I am close to purchasing a Limelight Flair with an Ace Salt Water Sanitizing unit and was wondering if anyone had much experience with this saintizer. I hate spending $8,000 and finding out I still get a rash. I am going today to do a wet test but may not be long enough of a test to see if rash happens. Thanks for your responses and help.
