  1. Hi All, Taking a shot in the dark here...anyone have experience with these DreamMaker spa's? Long story short I need to get into it to do some repairs, however, these DreamMaker's don't have traditional skirts and appear to be one molded shell piece? I have this feeling there's something obvious I am not seeing...but I've turned the thing upside down etc and for the life of me I can't figure out how someone would remove the shell to access Tubing etc. There's obviously an access port to get to the motor but it by no means allows access to all sides of the Spa? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!
  2. Hello, The DreamMakers seem semi popular so hoping someone has some tips. Mine sprang a leak, however, what's throwing me is the fact there is only ONE access port. These DreamMakers are a solid shell tub so I can't remove the skirts like a traditional spa...I'm hoping there is something super obvious I am missing..need to chase this leak....appreciate any help advice!
  3. Thank you so much for the response. I am still going to get on this asap, but this brings my stress level down a bit. I swear everything in my home that can go wrong has gone wrong in the last week. Anyhow, kind of a follow up to my last post...in the interim does anyone know about the manual motor start? Here is the youtube video where it looks like someone is manually starting theirs: I would love to get it going until the new timer comes. I also know found out I have a Century Centurion Motor Part#7-177449-03. Appreciate everyone's time!
  4. Put up a previous post recently asking about manually turning on a pool pump. One of the wires for the timer box melted. So, long story short the pool has had no circulation for approx going on 2 weeks now. Waiting on a replacement timer since it was under warranty, but I'm not going to get into that story. As you can imagine pool looks like a swamp. Entire floor covered in green algae. From what I've been told the biggest risk letting this go for too long is staining. Anyone have any idea how long it takes before it actually starts to stain? As of right now the stuff seems to still come up easy when I brush over it, but I have no idea how long it's going to take to work out this timer situation and I'm getting nervous....I'm obviously going to get this done asap, but it's already been about 2 weeks of Algae present...any input is appreciated!
  5. My pool pump timer/control burnt out. Going to get a new one, however, in the interim...is there a way to manually start the motor? I've seen a video on you tube of someone sticking needle nose pliers into the back of the motor and it starting. I have a Pentair Whisperflow pump and with Century Centurion motor. Don't have the model#'s on me however. Any advice is appreciated. Still finding my way around this pool stuff....thanks for your time...
  6. So, I'm pretty sure it is the relay. Used a voltmeter and didn't get a reading, however, here's the next issue...how do I replace the relays? It looks like there are two relays and they are part of the entire circuit board? There's no way to just unscrew them...? Maybe I can get a picture posted..?
  7. I am far from a Kreepy Krauly expert...but I came across this same problem. I went and got another weight that snapped onto the hose and it solved the problem. As to why it worked fine before and suddenly needed an extra weight I don't know, but like I said it solved my problem...
  8. Thanks for the responses! So, bad relay/cap is the guess huh? I'll check that when I get home tonight. I didn't notice the motor make any noise when I tried to turn it on. I hope it turns out to be an easy fix. I did take the motor itself into a pool store and they checked it and said it was working fine, which only supports your guys' theory even more. I'll follow up on what happens. Thanks again!!
  9. Hi everyone, Been getting the hang of being a pool owner for the past year now. Got a lot of guidance from people on the forum so I do owe everyone a Thank You! Running into a new issue. Today I noticed my Kreepy Krawly wasn't moving. Went over to check and come to find out the entire pool pump/filter was not running during it's scheduled time. I went to manually turn it on at the control panel and heard the usual click..and then...nothing. My first stop was the breaker box. I flipped the breaker on and off and it had no effect. The wiring seems to be in good condition. Other than that being a novice I'm now at a loss. The motor is a Pentair Whisperflo WFE-something or other. I know you guys aren't psychics...but any ballpark guess on what can cause these pool pumps to not work?? The only thing that has happened lately out of norm is we just had a very big storm here in San Diego. I don't know what that could of done, but I figured I would mention it. Anyhow, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!!!!
  10. Thanks for the response! So, what do people usually do for running their portable Spa's? I remember back in my day you weren't suppose to keep the Spa on all day and were suppose to turn it down after using it. Now a days I hear people say it's cheaper to just keep it heated to the tempature you like 24 hours a day. Granted this may be for the newer "energy efficient" spa's which mine certainly isn't...any opinion on this?? I keep mine at the max 104 all day...
  11. Hello, I recently bought a very small 4 person 110 volt Coleman Spa. I don't know what year it is. I would say newer than 1995 at least. I put in a dedicated outlet that it is plugged into. Based on the research I did and asking around, I just keep it heated to 104 degrees 24 hours a day. People have told me it is best to keep it on all day then to only heat it up when you are going to use it. Usually it retains that tempature pretty well because the Spa is so small, however I do notice it kicking on every once in a while to keep it @104. Anyhow, I was prepared for paying a little extra on my energy bill, like $50 or so, but I just got my $423.00 bill in the mail. I live in San Diego CA and the summer here has been really hot. So, I am well aware that the Air Conditioning plays a huge role in the bill amount, however, even before the bills at most would be $255 or so. Anyhow, my main question...anyone have any advice/input about this Spa raising the energy bill? Does anyone think it COULD be adding more than $50 to my bill every month?? The motor is small, but I also don't have the exact details in front of me. Should I be keeping the temp up to the max 104? Also, it should be noted that I have also started running my pool filer/pump 10 hours a day instead of the 6 I was doing before. THis is my first time maintaing a pool/spa so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time...
  12. Just bought a 110 volt Spa. I was naive and assumed the plug coming out from the tub would be your simple "Connect the extension cord and make sure there is a GFCI" type of set up. However, not to my surprise it isn't that easy. The plug coming out from the Spa is a 20 amp with the 1 sideways "prong". The outlet on the side of my house is the regular 3 "prong" outlet. Is there an adapter I can use that has a male 20 amp end and a female "3 prong" end so I can attach that to the Spa and then use an extension cord to get to the outlet? I'm also going to buy a portable GFCI unit. Any advice would help. Thank you for your time.
  13. As far as I know my Pool is very old. Very possibly built in 1960 the same year as the house. The previous owner we bought the home from wasn't very keen on certain things like "building codes" so when I went to change my pool light yesterday it occured to me there very well may be no GFCI connected to it. How can I tell if there is one? What does it look like? For a pool light where would it be? Any advice would help. Thanks for your time....
  14. bdubya200, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's significant other is having a hard time finding a decent Spa seat for herself! Anyhow, I'm sure you already researched this, but we're looking at the Burlington, which is really a very basic model for Sundance, but looking at the set up of the Certa and Burlington side by side the set up doesn't look that much different. However, obviously the jets, warranty, etc is different. It seems like you guys are definitely going for therapy...However, I got quoted @$5,700.00 otd with steps, delivery, cover etc. So if you guys were willing to skimp on a lot of the Certa features to save some money, I just wanted to bring that up...
  15. Thanks for the input guys! We actually will be placing it on a tile patio. Here's the thing that surprised me...the patio in my opinion is fairly level..but not 100%. So I inquired about this with the rep @Sundance and they told me not to stress too much about the level of the tub as long as it wasn't outrageously unlevel. I was all stressed out about buying spa pads and what not to level it out because I thought it was very important to have it 100% level. I don't know...in my unprofessional opinion the Spa would be about 98% level. Does anyone disagree with the rep? Thanks!
