  1. I always try to buy used as well when it comes to big ticket items like vehicles and tools. In my region though, the ask is too high on good used tubs. For instance, there are 3 used Jacuzzi J series for sale in Craigslist. All have an ask over 3500, are more than 4 years old, and will have void warranty if moved. It will cost me close to 4K to get those tubs in my backyard. Replacement is about 7500. Not enough of a buffer to make buying used worthwhile. Sounds like you did okay though.
  2. I'm not sure what the US market is like, but there are great deals to be had in Canada. I dont see any reason to buy a tub online, if you narrow down to a few tubs you want and then shop aggressively there should be a smoking good deal somewhere in your market. I'm seeing differences of of up to 4k for comparable tubs and 2k for the same tub amongst local dealers. To be fair my market, Vancouver, has at least 6 companies making spas so that might account for the deals available.
  3. I've searched the board and found that thread. I'm hoping to get some feedback from someone who owns one of these spa's.
  4. Another Canadian dealer has this same tub for 6k but that includes delivery and chemicals.1500 difference, so I know the price is right on the 3000 from my local dealer. Looking for feedback on this tub!
  5. In my search for a tub under 5k cdn I came across a Maxx Elite 3000. The dealer is local and the price is great...3995 cdn. That doesn't include delivery or setup but those options are readily available in my market due to the number of local tub manufacturers. I'd like to hear some first hand reviews on this tub. I took a look and sat in one dry and It appears to be great value. There are 27 decent sized jets, a single 56 frame pump. The skirt looks well built. The tub uses their own insulation process, it looks better insulated than a Costco tub and less insulated than a full foam. Any thoughts on this tub and or Maxx?
  6. I spent some time on their website and they actually have a very strong FAQ. I really like the look of that equipment doghouse, and I appreciate they way they explain the way the system works in detail. You can tell the've been doing this for a while. I'm going to make an appointment to check out the showroom. I'm also keeping my eye out for used tubs but this market seems to have lots of 3-5 year old overvalued tubs. Not sure how people think their 6 year old, off warranty, tub in disco colours is worth 60% what they paid. lol
  7. Thanks for the quick response. I found you in the other H2O thread I could find and I know you are high on these tubs. What can you tell me about the quality of the controls, heater and pumps? Are they finished well - have you ever sat in one? Also, what is your connection to the company? I love the idea of buying locally and prices are right but I'm having a hard time getting my head around the lack of info on these tubs.
  8. I'm in research mode. In my area - Langley BC - there is a Marqis dealer, a Jacuzzi dealer and of course a Coast Spas dealer/plant. There is also the option to buy direct from the H2O Spas factory. I comfortable with the Jacuzzi brand and really like their 300 series but they run over my budget - entry level on a 300 series in Canada is close to 8K out the door. That includes delivery and set up though. They are also set up to Wet test and I like the dealer. The Marquis everyday line seems to get good reviews here and the price points are good. I can get a 6.6x6.6 tub for 6200 out the door but will need to add 400 for delivery set up for $6600. The one brand I know nothing about is the H2O Spas. They are built locally, and the value appears to be very good. I can get a 80x80 with ozone, 2 pumps etc for under 6K out the door. Does anyone have direct experience with this Manufacturer? Anything you can tell me about the tubs?
