  1. Serenity X16 by Absolute Pools and Hot Tubs What I like - They are made in TN, perhaps close to you What I don't like - They have an F from the BBB. Now, I believe that even the BBB should be taken with a bit of skepticism, a large company can get a number of bogus claims from wacko customers. But it says they didn't reply to some claims, that is probably a bad sign. Hot Springs is a pretty big name in hot tubs. Overall I've heard pretty good things. In terms of other brands, it really depends upon what you are looking for. If you want the absolute cheapest and don't mind doing repairs yourself without support, you can find a Chinese-made spa on the internet. If you want good quality and good support, find a dealer in the yellow pages within a reasonable driving range and go meet them.
  2. Why is Master Spa at the top, and the other reputable manufacturers aren't listed until the very bottom? Even the "Epinions" website is listed higher up. whois.domaintools.com says that "Tim Baele" owns the hottubbroker.com domain, as well as "14 other domains" for what it's worth. Could mean next to nothing, considering it's possible that there's more than one Tim Baele out there. However, I did notice that there's a link from the "Buying Tips" page that goes to Poolandspashow.com which lists when this traveling sales group will be selling Master Spas. Conveniently, poolandspashow.com is registered to "Domains by Proxy, Inc." Google led me to "Tim Baele" over @ Twitter, who runs the MasterSpas Twitter page. http://twitter.com/masterspas The internet is a dangerous place my friends. You never know who you're talking to, or whether they be legit or scam, or what their intentions are. You are right there could be more than one Tim Baele's out there and maybe the url registrar is different from the sales manager at Master Spa I really hesitated with my first post. It is bad business to make negative comments about other companies. It is an interesting coincident, however, that just today, 2 days after this post, the owner went into the url registration and removed Tim Baele's name. The url is now registered to Brasco Productions.
  3. I think you meant hottubbroker with no s. A whois on the url says that it is registered to Tim Baele . A google search on Tim Baele seems to indicate he is a sales manager at Master Spas. It is a bit embarrassing to be in the industry when this happens.
  4. There are a number of makers of roller covers. The names that come to mind are Rocky Roller(roller mechanism) and Cover Pools. But an internet search would probably yield others just as good. I have even seen a roller cover that inflates 2-3 inches for insulation. If you don't care about insulation, then a roller cover will keep in the humidity, keep out debris and can be locked for safety. The one thing that might bother me a little, is that to install the cover track, you will have to drill mounting screws into the top lip of your H2X.
