  1. Thanks PoolTech. I see that u can upgrade the raypak to a cupro nickel heat exchanger but I am going to go with the hayward. Thanks for your help.
  2. Just wondering if there are drawbacks (besides it taking 4 days to fill) using house water vs. getting water delivered. Guess I am wondering if I have to worry about chemicals from house water vs. buying water that might be filtered. know nothing about buying water as I never have....just had our pool resurfaced hence the reason for refilling Thanks
  3. Hi, I am looking to purchase a pool heater and can't find reviews online. One thing I don't want is copper piping if I can help it. We had problems with metals before and one major issue is GREEN Hair. (no, it is not just chlorine, it's the chlorine w/ the metals that cause green hair) Anyway, I am thinking between the raypak & hayward, natural gas, low nox & probably will go with the biggest unit (we live in NY). Pool size 17 x36, like the pool at about 84. My understanding is the bigger the better. I've read about downdrafts and have no idea what they are referring to. Also, where do u find the efficiency rating....I see articles that say pool heaters are anywhere from 82% - 95% efficient but can't find specs on these two heaters. Please let me know what issues I should be aware when purchasing a heater and/or installing a heater. I know I need clearance, but again not sure how much clearance. The heater will be next to the outside wall of my house. Thanks for any information.
