so i think ive widdled my hot tub problem down to the pump/motor... i think. the problem: the motor is stuck on high. or, "jets two". everything else seems to be working properly. heater, thermostat, the top control seems to be properly controlling all other functions... but for some reason the pump wont come out of its "jets two" function. no matter what i do. is it possible there is a solenoid, or something similar on hot tub motors? or do they not work like that...? either way, something isnt triggering... any ideas??

now i cant get the "jets two" feature to go back to jets one... the pump shuts off for about two seconds, then fires back up on "jets two"... idea's??

i just got home from work and i noticed my hot tub was running, but sounding a little odd... when i looked at the controller, the temp was all the way up to 102, and the jets were running full steam on "jets 2". i never heat my tub to 102, and i dont use the jets 2 setting. to much wake for me... when i attempted to reset the jets back to jets 1, the jets would momentarily shut off, then kick right back in again on jets two. i shut the power off at the breaker in an attempt to reset it, but to no avail. its a cal spa tub with a very basic balboa controler... ideas??

hmm... sounds like you could be right. sounds that way anyway. as for the high temps. i live in seattle. high temps here just hit 75 last week!!! thanks for the help!!!

ive not noticed it coming back on by itself, of course im gone all day at work... i left it running while i went to sleep last night, it was off when i got up. so i hit the jets button/turned it on before leaving the house. it wasnt running when i got home... should it turn back on after a reasonable amount of time. could it be as simple as ive been gone while it clicked back on? the motor hums its normal hum that comes from an electric motor, but nothing out of the ordinary.

the tub runs for four hours then the pump just shuts off. until i go out and hit the jets 1 key. then it runs for another four hours... ive messed with the top side unit, but i cant figure it out... is this some kind of safety thing. i cant imagine it was designed to shut off every four hours, was it?

i recenlty bought a cal spa tub thats got a balboa "digital duplex system" or something like that, top side controller installed on it. ive got no operating instructions for it, although ive been able to figure out a few functions on my own, i cant seem to figure the rest out. i can change temp, and filtration cycle settings, but i cant seem to figure out the rest... the only indication i can find as far as a part number is concerned is "33326" and "51248"... any help would be great!!!

the free caldera tub i got earlier this weeks needs a new topside controller. im assuming...? is something like this still avail for this model? or will an aftermarket/replacement one work just as well? the tub is "stuck" in whatever mode the previous owner had set. meaning, when i plug it in (110), the jets come on automatically, like it or not. and, it heats up to whatever temp the previous owner had it set as well... basically, i cant control anything inless i unplug it and plug it back in...

im new to the forum! i just got a free tub (caldera CM-13) from a neighbors friend. nothing fancy, but it works. the color of the tub is a bright gleaming white. way to bright for me. im thinking i could paint it or something...? is this possible? recommended? or should i just be glad i got a free tub??!!
