  1. Thanks Spa God I think I will go with the Balboa Plasma unit. After reading several things on them seems to be the way to go.
  2. It is a 2005 model spa, so the generator is probably bad. What should I replace the unit with? What is the best generator on the market for hot tubs?
  3. Is there a way to test an ozone generator? My tub has one and it got unhooked in the move. It is a Del CDS-16DR Should the chip light up or be pushing air? Any good way to see visually if it is working?
  4. I just printed out the dichlor then clorox method. Seems pretty simple. And I also printed out the water balance instructions. Man this stuff seems pretty complicated.
  5. Well I just bought a used 2005 model Catalina XL 11000 with all the bells and whistles. Picked it up for $1250 from a guy locally that said they are upgrading. I am having it moved to my house Friday. Only option it doesn't have is OZONE. I have a few questions. 1. Should I add Ozone to the tub? It is ready just have to get the generator. 2. He is using a Chlorine tab floater, shock, and ph adjuster. Is this what I should use or do you all suggest something better? 3. The only problem with the spa anywhere is the cabinet panels are faded. What kind of stain/varnish/sealer should I go back with after sanding? I believe it to be mohagany according to the book. 4. Should I run some type of system flush to clean everything out good? Is there a chemical to you to do this?
  6. Thats what I was thinking. Seems like it is in near perfect condition. He seems to be a stand up guy in a financial bind.
  7. You all are the spa experts. Is 19 jets enough or do I want to go larger with more jets? This one will run on 120 VAC or 230 VAC supposidly, What would be the difference in running in one or the other? Do those of you who own this spa like it or wish you would have gone a different route?
  8. I have the chance to buy a 2008 model HS Prodigy, that appears to have been taken care of really well. The guy is getting a divorce and they need the money. He is asking $1500 for it. I have to make a decision today and it will take about 3 days for a local dealer to go take a look at it. It is full of water, and seems to be functioning flawlessly. Would you all consider this a good deal? I priced this unit at around $6000 new. This would be my first spa in a long time, and this one will fit the spot on my patio perfectly. Would you consider buying or should I just throw the extra money at a new one? I really like the loungers but don't want to spend $8k finding out we won't use it as much as we thought.
