hi everyone, I am having the same CE code on my Hayward H400IDPL2 heater. I originally got the IF code, so I replaced the ignitor - then I got the CE code. Just to let you know = the heater cycled on and ran through the cycles but would not ignite - so that is why I replaced the ignitor. I visually inspected both boards and there is no burnt spots or visible damage. So I just ordered both boards (ouch) because I am having a party in 2 weeks and didn't feel like waiting to try one, then order the other. I would love to know which board you guys think I should replace first = becasue I have a chance of returning a board if it wasn't installed. So - what are your thoughts? Display board or integrated control board first? Thanks!

Thanks - I will try that when the rain stops! I also ordered an ignitor for it - so I might try the ignitor before I take everything apart. Is there any way to keep the spiders out of there? Can you remove it and store it when not in use or is that not a good idea??

Hi Jon, We had a similar problem here at our pool. We had no leaks and could not figure out what was going on - we finally ripped apart our Jandy valves and found that the diverter assembly rubber gasket was mangled. So we ordered new diverter assemblies, replaced them and haven't lost prime since. Good Luck! Kristen

Hi guys, Kristen again, last year I did the paper clip trick and it worked like a champ, but no luck this year. I tried the paperclip, and a pipe cleaner. No luck. Any other suggestions out there? It does cycle on, and I hear the click right before ignition - but no ignition. Wondering if there is anything else to clean out? Or do I need parts? And if I do need parts = where do I start?? Thanks!!!

Hi everyone, I have a Hayward H400 IDPL2 heater - it is propane and low nox. This is my 3rd season with it. When we started our pool we noticed that the heater will cycle on, try 3 times, and then give a IF (ignition failure) code. I have checked all the wiring, we DO smell gas when it goes to fire, and it will cycle and then we hear a "click" but we don't get the "woompf" when the heater should ignite. i tried twice a day for a week, thinking their might me air in the gas line. Nothing. My pool company is telling me it is probably a gas valve (cheapest I found was $116 they are at 350!) or a Control module (about $300 I didn't even ask their price!). It has not been cleaned since we bought it. There are a few spiders and webs in there. Also, we live in SE PA and had A TON of snow this winter...don't know if that plays into it at all!) Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I would love to get it running soon - and I am willing to buy the parts online if you guys tell me I can put them in myself! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Kristen

I hope you take the recommendations above, and NOT fill in the pool. When my children were that age, our pool was a huge concern. I too was worried about the fencing options, and how they "look" - well - after installing a Life Saver Safety fence - my mind was at ease - it took a little adjustment to looking at it - but it is by far the best choice we made. I love the fact the we can remove it easily for an "adult only" party! My girls are now 8 and 6 and LOVE the pool! They come down before breakfast with their suits on, and are ready to go! Plus, no packing up to go to the pool! On a maintenace note, I have a 35,000 gallon pool - in Pennsylvania. I do it myself, it is quite easy. I use an automatic chlorinator, chlorine pucks in the skimmers, and shock once a week. takes me 15-20 minutes a week to maintain my pool. Plus I have an automatic pool cleaner which makes life SUPER easy! I think you will learn to love your pool! good luck! Kristen
