  1. No wet test on the Optima as they are not willing to fill it. We owned a Sundance Cameo before and loved it however the Optima has different seating. I spoke with the dealer and made a counter offer and she responded by telling me that she was confident in her price and that if I chose the Artesian Piper Glen that it was an "inferior spa". I must admit that in the past I actually liked dealing with this dealer but now I am not so sure. I think it is a stretch to call the Piper Glen inferior. I actually really want the Optima but I cannot help but feel that I am being taken for about $1000 more than necessary. I think because we owned a Sundance Cameo before and it was almost problem free that we are leaning towards the Optima. If it was based on the dealer alone I would definitely pick the Piper Glen.
  2. Which spa do you TRULY want. It dsounds like maybe you want the Sudance and if thats the case then before settling on the Artesian I'd tell the Sundance dealer you are considering between the two and you'd need a better price to go with his or simply flat out make him an offer with the idea that if you're not satisfied THEN you go to Artesian. Spatech, Your impression is correct. I put a lower offer in on the Sundance but have not heard back from the dealer so probably the couple thousand dollar less Artesian will be my choice.
  3. Jeff, Price that I was quoted in Canada was $12100 before tax for: 2009 Optima with flat foot well never filled with water. Standard cabinet with oyster finish JBL stereo ozone cover delivery/set up GFCI and some chemicals Cover Caddy lifter floor model heavy duty acrylic step - Smartstep What do you think? I think that it is to high so I will probably close on a Artesian Piper Glen.
  4. By chance, did you notice the title of this thread? "Best Hot Tub For Under $6500" My profuse apologies. I just wet tested the Island series by Artesian and I liked the quality of the jet massage, the quietness of the tub and the comfort of the seating position.
  5. Have you looked at the Artesian spas? I ordered one 2 weeks ago with all the bells and whistles for $9000 can. tax included. Did the wet test and loved it, also tried Arstic, Coast and Jacuuzi. I really think the wet test will tell all you need to know. Hi crazy canuck, A fellow canuck here also in search of a new spa. I owned a Sundance Cameo and a Beachcomber in the past. I was leaning towards a Sundance Optima this time around however I really like Artesian Spas. Could you tell me which model that you decided on and why you picked it over the others that you tested? For me it is down to the Artesian Piper Glen or the Sundance Optima.
  6. This must be a price in the USA because here in Canada I just received a quote on the same thing and the price was $12000 on a 2009 floor model that has never been filled with water.
  7. Want To Soak Tom, I agree 100% that a wet test is necessary. Tonight we tried three tubs at the dealer who has the Piper Glen for sale. That is the only way to determine if the jets and seating configurations actually work for each member of the family. I am going to push for a wet test on the Optima otherwise I will probably not buy it.
  8. gman Thanks so much for the comparison as it really helps hearing your perspective. Can you tell me what the neck jets are like as my daughter often has a sore neck from to much violin playing :-) I am tempted to check out the D1 Amore Bay as I like the design of their neck jets in the pillows. I did check the Artesian Island series and we liked the corner jet where the neck jet has a collar and your shoulders are held snugly under an overhang. Seems like a good idea however the jets were not very powerful.
  9. I am trying to decide which hot tub to buy. I previously owned a Sundance Cameo so I am very partial to the Sundance brand. I want to buy a spa which has the most therapeutic ability. Plus my wife MUST have a spa that has some serious foot massage. Unfortunately where I live in Canada I cannot wet test either model so I need to buy them without the benefit of a true test. Potentially I could wet test the Sundance if I pushed a little harder as they want to sell me their floor model but don't want to fill it with water. The cost for the tubs are approximately the same at $10800. Any opinions on either of these hot tubs or any other manufacturers that I should consider would be great. Thanks
