We live in Southern Illinois and are trying to decide what type of pool to install - a fiberglass or lined in-ground pool. Our preference is a fiberglass pool but we keep receiving conflicting opinions regarding whether that is a good idea in our area. Our backyard is fairly wet (though we plan to address some of that with drain tile, etc.) and our soil has a lot of clay in it. If we went with the fiberglass pool we plan to install a cement cantilever apron around the pool. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
