  1. Hey Jake the Dog Man . . . or anyone else. Like yours, my tub might also be 6-12" from my house. Do you use a cover lifter and if so would you recommend yours?
  2. Hi Everyone; I built my deck specifically for a hot tub and received county approval for being structurally sound. That's the good news. The bad news is that the supported area is only 8'x7'. I did not take into consideration the space I would need for a cover lifter. I need to find out if I can extend my hot tub an additional 1 - 2 feet over my "normal" deck with sound joists 12" cc, but the span is an additonal 2 feet to the next beam. Does anyone out there have deck construction experience who could offer advice? Thanks.
  3. Hi All- We need a minimal clearance cover lifter as our tub will be placed within 12" or less of our house. I looked at the Covermate III online but can't tell if it's of good quality. Anyone have a recommendation?
  4. Hi All; Love the forum, it's been quite helpful. We are searching for our first tub. The salesman at HS suggested installing a Salt Generator for better quality water, less expensive in the long run, and less frequent refills. I'd like to hear the opinions of you veteran tub owners if you feel such a generator is the way to go. It will cost an additional $1000. Thanks!
  5. I'm curiuos to know what type of cover lifter you are using? I am planning to buy a tub soon and having a hard time deciding which lifter to get. I will have 12" or less clearance to my house. I'd love some advice!
  6. Hi Everyone; I need to find a method for storing my cover up against my house using as little space as possible. The less space I use the more room for a larger tub on my deck! Any thoughts or recommendations?
  7. When looking for our first hot tub, the sales guy at Hot Springs suggested that we consider having a Chlorine Salt Generator installed for an additional $1000. I like the idea of once/year or so water changes and better quality water - but is it really necessary? Is he trying to rip me off? I'd appreciate anyone's input on the pros/cons of these generators. Thanks!
