  1. And to add a "wildcard" to the mix, the dealer said they could put in an Ozonator for $300... Honestly, even after reading this forum for the past week, I have no clue what's going on and if the Ozonator is worth it.
  2. It sounds like the Dichlor then Bleach method would be the least expensive way of doing things so right now I'm leaning in that direction. I'm just trying to figure out (from someone who isn't trying to sell me anything) what I need to keep on hand. My goodness it's confusing! What sort of monthly costs could I expect from various methods assuming an average of about 10 bather/hours per week? I ask this because I was looking at chemical kits that are about $90 for what they say is a 3 month supply and then couple that with the increased electic usage... If I decide to go with simple instead of cheap, what are the options for a novice? Thanks!
  3. As much as I've attempted to "do my homework" I've been having some trouble. I have found a large number of consumers who were able to get one of the listed spas new for $4,200 including cover, lifter, steps, and chemicals. If I could get this deal near me, I would already have it in my back yard and would be home "sick" from work right now. As it stands, the dealers in my area are all selling it for $5,500 (which in one store was a 2009). I understand that some of the dealers were in TX and CA so they may pay less for shipping, but $1,300 less? Am I totally out of line thinking that I could get that same deal? I also looked at a 2005 but that was $3,500... I did get a quote from a CalSpa dealer on an Escape E848B for $5,500 which I know is a totally different tub but seemed like more of a "value" if I'm going to have to spend $5,500... I would also be open to suggestions but keep in mind the $5,500 is the absolute upper limit that I can spend... Thank you very very much!
  4. have you looked into the tax-deductibility? I may just be talking out my butt right now but I know when I was prescribed massage therapy it was tax-deductible as a medical expense. Dont confuse that with insurance paying for it but it could still be a nice chunk of change at the end of the year. Or not. YMMV.
