  1. Hello all, this is my first post but seems like I have found a great resource. I am hoping that someone or many people could give push me in the right direction. So I will give some quick background.. just got a cottage, it is four season and is in desperate need of a tub. The main issues will be maintenance, reliability, and function. With the research I have done it seems like their are an endless amount of options/brands and quite frankly I am not sure what/which are worth it and which are not. On the property there is a screened in porch that is already wired for the tub, so it will not be completely exposed to the elements but still but outdoors, the floor in the porch is concrete. As far a size I was envisioning a standard square tube ( I am think they consider them '6 or 8 man'), but I am open to other sizes. The jet pattern is really not all concerning as long as it is relaxing and can support and comfort a small group of people. On to the real issues, it is a cottage and there will be periods where no one will be there to keep an eye on it (up to two or three weeks sometimes) something that does not require constant maintenance is a must. I know there are options for salt water, and self cleaning models but unsure if they work and worth the price jump. Reliability very important as during the periods when no one is around is generally in the winter and obvious the tub malfunctioning would be disastrous. I do know of a monitoring system to check in on the temp, but I would be much happier with something of worry free. This brings me to function, only function to me is that I can sit back and enjoy a sunset and not be cursing the tub every-time I see it. As far as price goes I realize that there is a fairly wide range, but I am certainly willing to spend on quality or functions that may help make life easier (specifically quality insulation), but as a whole I was going to try to keep it somewhere between 5-10K. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Luke
