  1. Yes, buyer beware! Spa, Pool & Patio Customers Rebate Ripoff Origin of the Rebate Scam According to a Former Dealer To be continued in order to protect the consumer.....
  2. Wow! They sure got these folks riled up with their advertising tactics: 1 800 SPA SALE and SignPostersUSA blighted Orange County, California and the city of Long Beach this weekend.
  3. The Spa Guy...yes, it is uncanny how so many of these same themes are repeated ad nauseum. Now, it would appear that the poster Greg Jackson has linked a name to the website ownership, and if his information is correct, then it is a direct link to corporate. This is exceedingly disturbing (albeit not unexpected) information to anyone seeking to promote honesty and ethics in the spa industry. One would certainly hope that Kreg and SpaTimSince79 would simply admit "Hey, you know, that was a shady idea that should have never seen the light of day. It is a little underhanded even when compared to some of our other tactics. I renounce these methods and will simply concentrate on building and then selling my products based upon their own merits." Unfortunately, I can see them sweeping this under the rug and continuing to adhere to the often quoted (and wrongfully attributed to PT Barnum) mantra: "There's a sucker born every minute...and they need one of my spas." I regard this outfit in the same way former University of Texas FB Coach Darrel Royal regarded TCU: "They're like a bunch of cockroaches. It's not what they eat and tote off, it's what they fall into and mess up that hurts." It's a stain on the whole industry. Termie
  4. Hot Tubaloney! At one of the shows they did in Longview, a spa shopper came straight from the tent sale and asked if we serviced the spas being sold at the show. I asked her "Who told you that?". She said the salesman told her that we were an authorized service center and that we would take care of her if there was a problem. A couple of my customers came in later for chemicals and I bribed them to go over and listen to the sales pitch. They were told the same thing. I then had my underling Amy go over and ask them to put it in writing. The head honcho (I believe his name is Tim) quickly refused to do so, changed his tune, and then told her that a company named Royal Spa Repair (or something similar) was their repair center for the area. Surprise!....there is no Royal Spa Repair in East Texas. Lies, deception, tomfoolery.....and I haven't even gotten to the GOOD stuff, yet. Would you like to learn more? Termie
  5. Dad gummit.... It's my day off and my iPad called and said people were talking about me so here I am instead of getting a nap. From my perspective, the argument has never been about the quality of the product. It is what it is, I've seen it with my own eyes numerous times, posted comparisons when challenged, etc. The whole reason I hopped in on this was because of the unethical practice the traveling peddlers have exhibited whilst slithering through Longview, TX. It is a fact that they've told shoppers that our company was a certified Master Spa service center. This is an utter lie, it is fraudulent, and it served to make us appear as to be in cahoots with their nefarious modus operandi. That is when we drew the line and contacted our attorney to issue a cease and desist proclamation. As far as I know, they haven't been back here in 2 or 3 years. When I posted on this subject in the deleted thread, Kreg seems to misconstrue my post into that I'm somehow claiming to BE a MS service center. Absolutely NOT...it was an effort to distance ourselves from these types of slimy operators and their wares. We do business here, we remain here, we take care of our customers here, and we're involved in the community here...have been for 25 years. Along comes Spatech79 and his condescending posts, and then he gets routed out by Spatechtuo as nothing less than the epitome of EXACTLY what we have been arguing against when he slipped up and linked himself to the completely phony Hot Tub Broker website. Instead of trying to defend the indefensible, I suspect he will turn into a hit and run sniper henceforth on the forum. The truth always wins out in the end and one's true colors will eventually be shown to the world. What is most disturbing is that you, Kreg, will not nut up and condemn the Hot Tub Broker website for what it is ( and it IS pure garbage). Do you disagree? By the way, I'm not a competitor to Master Spa. Even though they were telling people as far back as 2005 that they were opening a store in Longview, it has never achieved fruition...and I ain't holding my breath. Nap time.... Termie
  6. It even says in the warranty: "The original retail purchaser must send in a completed warranty registration card to Riviera Spas or register online at www.masterspas.com within ten (10) days of the date of original installation." Down at the bottom it says "Riviera Spas are manufactured by Master Spas, Inc" Term
  7. Thank you kindly, to be sure. The world is full of good folks with good intentions towards their fellow man. Con men, rip off artists, and flim flammers have no place in a decent society. To quote Edmund Burke "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." One of the greatest statements ever made, and never more salient than in the modern age. Cheers to all who seek to protect their fellow man from the predation of deceivers. Term (Waxing Philosophically and with a dose or two of Shiner Bock)
  8. What???????????????????? If you perpetuated that fallacy, someone would eventually uncover the truth and point out that you are a liar. You would be exposed as such, labeled as unethical, untrustworthy, your credibility destroyed and your reputation would forever be tainted. Such is the reality of the modern information age. "We will never agree on this topic!" What?????????????? What is the topic, from your point of view? I am curious and shall remain so. Term
  9. It's a small part of my job description. I have my computer set up to send me alerts when certain topics come up so that I don't have to wade through all of the chit chat. Term
  10. No one's bashing the brand...a Master Spa is simply, well....a Master Spa, nothing more. Where so many of us have been outspoken is against the unethical practices which you and GiantGreenSpider79 say does not happen. Turns out, it does. The post you referred to was deleted (in my opinion) because GiantGreenSpider79 kept throwing out accusations. When he was asked to provide proof, he bailed. The heater recall is public knowledge. It happened, it was corrected, any one who was affected was taken care of to their satisfaction. That's it. Term
  11. My preliminary research is showing GianGreenSpider79's web is being woven in Michigan. The Google Earth photos of the address appear to show either a strip mall or warehouse. Research is continuing when time allows. Copies of the webpage in its current form have been cached for future reference. Currently, we are in a holding pattern awaiting the expected defense of the indefensible. Term (Double Naught Hot Tub Spy)
  12. Bah, he's just a pawn....I'm wanting to hear what GiantGreenSpider79 has to say about these shenanigans! Term
  13. Lord knows I sure don't......Hot Tub Broker Ratings Term (the Skeptical)
  14. Actually, I cleaned up the spelling a bit. Utterly atrocious grammar is foisted upon anyone who happens to run across the original text. It is apparently written to appeal to a certain demographic (middle school graduates). 3 DAYS ONLY....DON'T MISS OUT OR I'LL KISS A PIG!!!!
  15. Not to fear...Local Dealers will be on hand to answer questions, schedule deliveries, and provide service after the sale!!!! Don't Miss Out!
  16. East Texas Regional Airport is the PLACE TO BE!!!! July 30- August 1, 2010 The Great Texas Balloon Race & Spa Show is put together by having manufacturers from all products such as hot tubs, portable spas, home spas, therapy spas, saunas and more to compete for your business all under one tent allowing YOU (the consumer) to compare the best deal.... Take the time to look at various brands. Ask about warranties as well as maintenance. A quality product will carry excellent warranties against defects that will cover the product with parts and labor.... Some manufacturers will hold product for a reasonable amount of time, but you may find it to your advantage to take delivery on it sooner for some manufacturers are selling products to move right away which saves you money.... Sit down in the shade, have a cold beer, ogle the hydrotherapy technicians....but don't you dare touch or miss out on this great opportunity! (Must be 21 years or older to drink beer) Brands on display include Hot Spring, Tiger River, Hot Spot, Solana, Limelight, Sunlighten, Port-a-Cool, Country Coach, Shiner Bock and many, many more!!!!!
  17. Ya gotta love the internets...I think it's here to stay. Term
  18. Oh ho hoooooo! Check out the "Ratings" page below: Hot Tub Broker Ratings '79 SpaTech, if you're associated with this group, you have less than ZERO credibility! Sherlock Term
  19. Hot Tub Broker dot com.......ahhhhh, the plot thickens...... Sherlock Term
  20. The spas you are seeing on E-bay are absolute crap! I have one of the spas you mentioned in my showroom and use it to show spa shoppers the differences in quality and garbage. The spa at my store was sold to a gentleman in the summer of 2008 for $6,000. It was dropped off in his driveway, moved to his backyard by him and some friends, and wired up. He spent the next 6 months trying to get the spa to work, called the "factory direct" hot line, received excuses, apologies, and empty promises. One day, the phones were disconnected and the website was gone. He called us and asked if we took trade-ins...we replied that if he bought a spa from us, we would dispose of his current spa at no charge. He agreed and bought a new Hot Spring Envoy. The internet spa was moved to my store and it looks like it was constructed of chicken wire and tin foil...absolutely the bottom of the barrel in components, workmanship, etc. The best advice I can give regarding shopping for a spa: NEVER...EVER buy a spa without physically inspecting it in person! Don't give $6000 of your hard-earned money to someone promoting a picture and a sales pitch. Good luck in your search! Terminator
  21. Everything you need to know about how this company operates.... Spa Pool & Patio Expo Reviews Terminator
  22. I would have done the same thing...heck, we wouldn't have sold it that cheap to start with, though. That is about the price of a Vanguard around here. Good luck in your continued search regardless. Terminator
