  1. Southportmom, You do have some options with fiberglass. There are a number of manufacturers that can produce pools to install above ground. Additionally, some manufacturers already have pools engineered for semi-inground applications. Based on the scope of the project, your budgetary constraints may be able to be met with fiberglass. Let me know where you are located and I will point you in the right direction. Southport, CT . I would get a fiberglass if I could it install it inground. Otherwise, I would just get an aluminum pool and install it semi-inground.
  2. Very much comparing apples to oranges here....what's your budget Southport? Considering I have no dog in the race, I can give you some honest pointers. we would like a pool in the 15x30 size range. The inground would cause additional cost such as the water table, rock, fencing, and decking costs. With the avove ground, we basically only have to worry about the decking. We would probably install some type of drainage system too either way. No way to get an inground for $30,000.
  3. Planning on buying a pool for the summer. We have a lot of ledge in our area and probably our yard. We also have a high water table. We are on a limited budget. We want to do things right or not to do them at all. My husband would prefer to get an above-ground pool. I prefer a fiberglass inground pool. I though maybe a semi-inground pool would be a good compromise since they would't have to dig as deep. If it even makes sense, can anyone on the difference between an aluminum Esther Williams pool and a fiberglass pool - or am I comparing apples with oranges.
