  1. My state doesn't require low NOx install. I don't see any advantage spending more for the low NOx. Seems to be about $200 more.
  2. I'm going with Raypak with the cupro-nickel fin tube heat exchanger. Thanks for your inputs!
  3. I'm in the the planning stage for a natural gas pool heater and I believe I have it narrowed down to two brands, Hayward and Raypak. My pool has 450 sq ft of surface area. The hayward model is a low nox universal H series heater (150K btu) and the Raypak Digital Heater (206K btu). They are about the same price. I don't live in a state that requires installation of a low nox heater so I don't know if I should stay away from the low nox. I am not planning to run heater 24/7, but to give pool a shot of heat on cool days. Would appreciate any comments on both brands good and bad. (Installation, easier to trouble shoot, set up, longevity of unit, operation, etc.). Thanks for your input.
  4. First post here, I have an inground fiberglass pool (32'X14') with a solid safety cover on it. It currently has a safety cover pump on it for pumping rain water and snow melt off it. I've never been satisfied with the pump idea. Has anyone tried installing, for example, 2X6's tapered cut at the ends across pool resting on the apron? Making the cover convex so the water would drain off naturally. Has anyone tried pool pillows to raise pool cover enough to drain? Open to ideas. Not interested in covers with mesh in the center, want to keep pool water level where it's at. Thanks
