  1. My experience with Arctic is that they just fall out. I think they fixed that problem finally, and if you have a newer tub, you should be able to unscrew them counter clockwise. Good luck. They don't "just fall out" anymore. They have corrected this and all their jets are threaded. The dealer I bought from acknowledged this was a problem a few years back but with the new jets it is a non-issue.
  2. Same here. It is piping hot when I go in with or without the jets on. The heat pump does go on when it goes beneath the preset temp...but with the cover on this may happen perhaps once a day for 5 minutes. These tubs have the best insulation bar none. "but with the cover on this may happen perhaps once a day for 5 minutes. These tubs have the best insulation bar none." This may happen and this may not, how do you know? Because I had an ice storm last week and lost power for 5 days in a row. It also depends on the outside temperature. Bottom line is if your hot tub is well insulated, the cover is fully sealing the tub so that no air is escaping (look for steam) then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

  4. Just bought a brand new Arctic Spa Yukon 2 weeks ago. Lost power for 5 days in a row due to the ice storm that crippled Eastern Ontario/Ottawa area. When power was restored we opened up the tub to see the temperature....76 degrees! Unreal. We bought this tub on a neighbours recommendation because of the insulation and how they can handle the elements. Needless to say it passed its first test with flying colours. In addition it has been an amazing tub. Very comfortable with several different seating options. We are using the AquaFinesse product and it is working very well. Water levels are good, water is clear, and we smell just fine after getting out. Also I want to mention the Arctic Spa Durham team for excellent delivery, service, and follow-up. During this "crisis" we did contact them and got their recommendations. They have been A1 and I recommend buying from them if you are going to get an Arctic.
  5. It is coming out in early 2010. Apparently it is basically a model that is in-between the Coyote line and the Arctic Spa line. 3 year warranty. The Alaskan is an older model, that is being re-launched if you will...once again.
